Ronaldo's staining his legacy. The multiple petulant walkouts, the failure to congratulate Benzema, the burn-it-all-down interviews with toads like Piers Morgan, the disrespect to his manager (a week after the manager extended an olive branch and temporarily captained him). No doubt a great football player in his era, but it's really hard to respect him as a person.

Totally agree Rio, you have to have a dialogue with player of that stature. CR7 is a special kind of player, He scored for club more than any of the players in the club and it is forgotten with in heart beat. This is not right. I don't know why Jamie cannot see that. Ronald made more money for the club more than they are paying him. Actually there are clubs will to enter that kind of business the shirts alone are enough to cater for his salary. We have to accept that CR7 is not your usual kind of player. The club was trying to use him, so on this I totally agree with CR7. I don't see how he would do it better. Ten Hag making him captain is the way of how they were trying to use him. You don't make me captain for just one game or even two and think it is okay. Address the issue at hand. He demands for the respect because he deserves it. The top scorer for the club. He deserves the respect.

The mistake United made wasn't brringing Ronaldo in, it was not qualifying for the Champions League. Ronaldo did his bit and if the rest of the team was even close to his level last season they would have qualified with ease.

I think it is wonderful that he did the interview. Everyone always has something to say about you if you are on top. It just shows the jealousy from people. A coin always has two sides and any story the same. It just depends which one sells more, the lie or the truth?

Noone is blame free in this, saying Ronaldo is a hero is a bit of a stretch. The facilities, science were the same last season while he got playing time and got paid a fat salary. He said he wanted to leave the moment the salary and his continued claim at superstardom was threatened, fair enough. This has nothing to do with his love for the club, it's about HIM! The Club, the Glazers and some of the players have just provided fodder for Ronaldo to use to burn it all down IMO. I like that he's laundered some of the dirty laundry in public though, I just do not like that he's threatened the progress of the team because of his own wants.

I don’t get the Ronaldo flak. If we were a properly ran club, I don’t think he would’ve done this interview. If Ronaldo had seen our club striving for more and the manager respecting what he was going through behind the curtains, I’m sure he would’ve stayed. We, as a club, did not handle this well. I had a feeling that once Ronaldo joined, he would ruffle our feathers . Because we have been conforming to mediocrity and have no idea what the hell we’re doing . And yah that came to be.

What's been incredible from Ronaldo and Messi is that they performed constantly season after season but time catches up to you. CR7's personality, dedication are very well known and proven that he didn't betrayed any of his clubs except some exceptions. So whenever he spoke up in public means something has been really going wrong. No one should be bigger than the club and I don't think CR7 thinks like that. He is highly emotional, dedicated, hard working which made him CR7 today. So if anyone just screaming for club, legacy, money, position rather than finding out existing problems and potential solutions; they are surely doing one thing for club- and that is dragging down the club to the hell.

@@omkardalvi8499 no he didn't. We started the season with 2 wins and a draw, we smashed 5 past Leeds and Pogba had like 6 assists in those 3 games with Bruno getting a hat trick. The entire team was worse trying to play to Ronaldos strengths. Ronaldo personally had a good season, but at the expense of every other forward having to change their games. We finished 2nd without him, and even of you say that was down to Liverpool having a shocker, it was still alot better than after Ronaldo.

This “Ronaldo scored 24 goals last season so he’s not a problem” is such a weak point. United finished 3rd and 2nd the two previous seasons, Martial + Rash + Mason outscored liverpools title winning front 3. But when Ronaldo joined, he hogged all the goals and the other attackers goal rate dropped and so did Brunos (martial was key to winning pens for Bruno too, which Ronaldos not going to win). He wins but the team loses. Same thing at Juve, now happening with us. Perez got rid of him at the perfect time.

Tchouameni is a long term piece to replace him and I don’t think Casemiro has that Kroos mentality of just staying around to help the youngsters when he’s still able to put in WC performances. Plus, Casemiro wanted to leave after winning it all and he wanted to join United. Different to the Di Maria transfer for example, he didn’t want to leave and we paid the money for him. What I’m confused about is how he said ETH doesn’t want him and the “other guys” (higher ups I’m assuming) didn’t want him last year yet, he was still bought by the club and he chose to join. And if they wanted him gone this summer and he wanted to leave, why didn’t he go? Doesn’t add up. Guess we’ll see in the next few days

Lets give Jamie Carragher some credit. Because he was the first one to say this would happen and everyone said he is just a Liverpool hater. Probably one of the biggest mistake Ronaldo did right now was to have this interview with Piers Morgan and not have in agreement for the full interview to be published straight away. All this clip release business has done is get Morgan way more views and forced people to make up their mind even before they listen to the full interview.

Ronaldo showed last season that if the team played to his strengths he could still perform...some classic moments such as the last minute comeback winner against Atalanta that reinvigorated a sense of Man U's history and Fergie time. But management decided to pursue a particular fashionable playing style, high press, possession football etc..rather than recruiting and forming the team around his strengths. So, no wonder he's unhappy.
