Again a very interesting analysis, because I had several mining companies on my radar, but I had not considered Vale. Some other analysis of this type of company (FCX, LUN, TECK, GOLD...) would be great. Thank you very much for your work!

I´m Brazilian and I think strange the way is pronounced Vale´s name in this video. Here in Brazil we pronounce the company´s name something like VAHLEE. We pronounce the letter E, at the end of the word like a E sound, with a stress in VA.......But it is an interesting video. Thank you!

Interesting analysis. There are two comments I would make. Firstly, repurchasing shares in not necessarily a good thing for shareholders. It very much depends on if the company repurchased shares at above or below intrinsic value. A company that repurchases shares below intrinsic value enhances shareholder value, a company that repurchases shares above intrinsic value destroys shareholder value. Secondly, purchasing a stock based on its past performance is largely irrelevant. It’s the future that matters, not the past. For example, between the two companies Intel and AMD, Intel has historically performed way better than AMD. However in recent years it has been AMD that has way outperformed Intel. Thirdly, you can often make more money from a company that has problems, than a company that has had enormous success. It really depends upon what price you pay for your investment.

Yeah we don't say it like that in Canada, that his accent and how you would say it by just reading it, English never makes much sense lol but we still say it a bit different more like val-a, your way with the h is correct though

Rio is the investment here. More diversified and everything it abstracts will get used in the world. An excellent long term stock

It depends what kind of mine and what regions your comfortable owning assets in. I would also add Newmont NEW and Barrack GOLD to your list. FCX Freeport is the best but expensive. Vale is iron my RIO is a copper mine BHP is all over with uranium assets leading the way for them in Canada. Super investor Stanley drunkenmiller bought Barrack GOLD. Not advice I own barrack and newmont. Do you own research and double check if drunkenmiller still owns it if you’re Also if you like platinum SBSW is in South Africa and Montana US. I own Stillwater SBSW also. Mostly for the Montana assets and not so much the South African ones even though those produce a lot of gold. Good luck. Hope something helped. Mining companies can be frustrating sometimes but I’ve also made a lot of money with them too.

Buy you’re favorite dividend stock or bond for cash flow. Reinvest the dividends into the S&P500 and gold. It’s a simple strategy but powerful over the long run. That’s why having cash flow assets are so important so you can keep buying, Good luck

I'm liking Vale much better than Rio in this analysis, but I own Rio because it trades on the Australian stock market and I have preferential tax treatment there.

A Brazilian viewer here: The way you spell Vale is wrong, it's not spelled like that. But I understand because Portuguese is not your native language. Nice video!

Very biased comparison, same points are given on multiple levels! There’s no comparison between Rio and Vale! Vale is a better investment by far.

difinately VALE is cheap, that was why I bought it instead of Rio. but the fact was usually cheap is not good, so shall I transfer to Rio?
@dannthegentleman4261
@dannthegentleman4261 7 ай бұрын
I believe VALE is cheap because it is sold on the Brazilian Stock Market, and Rio Tinto is sold at like European Stock Markets, so naturally the price of Vale will be cheaper because it exists less institutional international investors in the Brazilian Market, but which one is the best? I have no idea.
@dannthegentleman4261

Another reason that maybe makes VALE cheaper is that the Brazilian government is the largest shareholder of the company with 9%. And generally investors don't like to see a national government to be a top shareholder, because politics can influence the decisions of the company, maybe sparking some changes that the shareholders wouldn't want... But as we can see, it's just 9%, it is not like 50%+. So we have government risk there but it is also a diluted risk.

Valuations and Dividends are much more important to me than Past Results and Investors. In fact I don't care if there are super investors and what are they doing :) But I wouldn't buy any of these two right now. I'd wait for a recesion.
