Dr. Charles Frazier Stanley, the pastor of In Touch Ministries, died at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, at the age of 90.
Throughout his 65 years of ministry, Dr. Stanley has been known by millions of people around the world through his television and radio broadcasts. He has modeled his work after the apostle Paul's words in Acts 20:24, which read, "Life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about God's mighty kindness and love."
Stanley was born on September 25, 1932, in Dry Fork, Virginia, during the height of the Great Depression. His father died when he was just nine months old, and his mother reared him alone.
Dr. Stanley, who felt called to the ministry at the age of 14, attended the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, for his Bachelor of Arts, and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, for his Bachelor of Divinity. He attended Atlanta's Luther Rice Seminary and graduated both master's and doctoral degrees in theology.
Dr. Stanley was the pastor of Fruitland Baptist in the Hendersonville, North Carolina area from 1957 to 1959, then of First Baptist in Fairborn, Ohio from 1959 to 1962, then of First Baptist in Miami, Florida from 1962 to 1968, and finally of First Baptist in Bartow, Florida in 1968, before joining the faculty at First Baptist Atlanta. On October 1, 1969, Dr. Stanley would join the staff at Atlanta's First Baptist Church as an associate pastor.
Two years later, on October 1, 1971, Dr. Stanley became the senior pastor of First Baptist Atlanta, a position he held for the rest of his life. A 30-minute program called The Chapel Hour debuted the next year on WXIA and WANX (now WGCL) in the Atlanta area, marking his entry into the field of broadcast ministry.

That's what I said yesterday. He is standing in glory! Never goodbye just I'll see you later. Nobody can take his place. I left emails for my local news stations, as well as David Muir, that nothing was mentioned about him. They had a mention flowers on national news, but nothing about Dr Charles Stanley. And I think it's disgraceful.

Tears of sadness for his loss in our lives, but also tears of gladness that he is now with our Lord Jesus Christ. First, Rev. Billy Graham, now Dr. Charles Stanley...the two most beloved crusader's for Christ are now with Him. Deepest sympathies to the Charles family. He will always be remembered and cherished. 🙏🙏🙏

In Touch Ministries of Dr. Charles Stanley, played a very big and important role in my life as I was battling depression and anxieties, through his biblical verses and spiritual references. He speaks with a soft toned voice, calm and full of inspirational verses. I just love and always looking forward to his television program before. Now, his time has come to lay to rest, REST IN PEACE, DR. CHARLES STANLEY. You have helped a lot of souls go forward to walk the straight and narrow road to everlasting life through our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I thanked you for your guidance. I'm writing this now with tears in my eyes and sorrow in my heart. I watched and listened to his sermons almost every day. Yet another bright light taken away from us in an ever-darkening world. His words were a comfort and a guiding light for me. I can't begin to tell you how many times he saved my life in so many ways. His crown of glory in heaven will be immense. Just as his love for Jesus............

Awesome man!! Greatest teacher ever. He never strayed from the Trurh of God's Word. He taught about sin and repentance and having a relationship with God. Not like other TV preachers of the day who preached prosperity. Keeping everyone happy and jumping. But when trials and test come, they wont have no fight in them, nothing to stand firm on. RIP Dr. Stanley. Well Done! You fought the good fight of faith for 51 years. U rest now in God's bossom. U will be missed. 😢

As a kid and my dad was listening to him on TV and for some reason i stopped in my tracks and started listening to him also and ever since whenever he was on id listen to him. He always had a way to help better understand the bible and the meaning of God's word. I always respected Charles and was one of the only preacher's I could listen to without going to sleep or lose my attention. When I found out about his passing it hit me almost as hard as my own Dad passing away. I understand that God called his faithful soldier home to join our savior in heaven. God bless Mr Stanley and thank you sir for what you did for everyone who chose to listen to you and learn about our King Jesus Christ.

Dr. Stanley had a lot to do with my wife's turning to Jesus. Watching him Sunday mornings gave her a much better understanding of the Bible, and ultimately her attendance at church and salvation.

Ephesians 1:1-14. Prayer goes out for you and those here. A CROWN in Heaven awaits all who share the Gospel of Jesus Christ that saves a soul. How can we hear it? Scripture tells us. Romans 10:17 "Then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." (We receive the "word" in many ways. The "Word" is Jesus Christ!); John 1:1-5. God the Holy Spirit teaches through the Word of God in the Bible. The Birth of Jesus Christ Isaiah 7: 14: "Therefore the LORD shall give you a sign; behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and call His name Immanuel." Hebrew: עִמָּנוּאֵל, "God with us" in human flesh but without sin. The Savior of the world was born to die for our sins! He did so 33 years later. His terrible ordeal; body mutilated; blood poured out, finally died (John 19:30; Luke 23:46 ) and was placed in a tomb and rose from the dead the 3rd day ! "HE IS RISEN" Matthew 28: 6. Isaiah 53:" 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all." - IT IS FOUNDED UPON GOD'S LOVE FOR MAN AND WOMAN HE CREATED John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 3: 23 " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 "1 Corinthians 15: 3 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" THE PAYMENT BY HIS BLOOD FOR ALL SINS EVER! Romans 5:8 " But God demonstrates his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, now justified by his blood, we will be saved from wrath through him." “For he (God) hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21. Matthew 26: 28 "For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins." (the life is in the blood. He had to pay with His life) "And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness." Hebrews 9:22 BY GOD'S GRACE ALONE THROUGH FAITH ALONE IN JESUS CHRIST ARE WE SAVED Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast." Jesus died and paid the penalty for our sins to rescue us from eternal death. He died on our behalf. We believe in Him, trusting His death and shedding His blood as payment for ALL our sins and His burial and resurrection from the dead the third day! John 20:24-31; 1 Corinthians 15: 3-4 above. WHOSOEVER BELIEVES SHALL TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH Romans 10: 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” TO DIE IS TO REJECT SALVATION IN JESUS CHRIST AND BE SEPARATE FROM GOD FOREVERMORE Salvation and forgiveness of sins is the blessing of anyone who believes in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We receive the baptism of God the Holy Spirit immediately which seals us in Christ and that is permanent! Ephesians 1:13-14. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death". Revelation 21:8. "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 5: 1

Watched Dr Stanley’s video when I had surgery at St Luke’s Hospital in Quezon City Philippines and never turned back since that day! He influenced many important huge decisions I made in my life from working in Asia to migrating in the USA! Let us celebrate his life instead of mourning as his passing is God’s will! Let us pray 🙏 ❤❤

I will continue to watch In Touch Ministry on Sundays in memory of him. He was inspirational in my life. I visited his church in Atlanta.

Charles Stanley was a true man of God who taught directly from the bible. Our family has watched him faithfully for years and learned so much of God's truth. I feel like I lost a family member and I am heartbroken because we will miss him in our homes each week. However, I know he is celebrating in heaven and is wearing many crowns for being a good and faithful servent. God bless CHarles and his family and followers. And a personal thank you to him from us for helping to make sure my family knows and loves Jesus.

His calm demeanor and direct approach to the Bible gave me hope others were watching and understanding his message. I eould wake early to watch and after his prayer lay back and rest my head knowing those words he spoke delivered with his passionate personality gave me peace. Was saved as a youngster and will always remember the warmth of love I felt at that moment. Now he's experiencing his reward with God. Tears fall even though I am happy for him as his ability to share the love in the word has saved many. I loved him and hope his segmants will continue to be shown on tv.

I used to lookat Dr. Stanley several times on Sunday , during the week, every chance I got. I use to think about how he was going to light up heaven when he got up there with that gentle voice of his speaking about the words because the souls up above would want to gear him speak 🙌. I was always dreading his passing which we all got to do, but it some people you feel should live Forever. He taught me well with those magical sermons. See you again one day GOD'S MIGHTY WARRIOR👐 👐 👐

I'm really going to miss you coming on TV at 7:30 pm on Saturday nights ,as well as, Sunday mornings at10am till11am. You were the very best. No one compares. There were others, but no one can ever take your place. You did the will of God all your life. That's something to be very proud of. I'm proud to call you my Pastor in Roanoke ,Va.
