iSmartAlarm company ceased trading as of 28 January 2021. They went out of business citing "the current economic climate" as the reason. Another company, meShare INC kindly agreed to take over support of existing systems for free for one year. For now, most hardware works with the exception of the PRO Icamera Keep and the European version of the wifi plug. So don't throw away your iSmartalarm system yet.

If the SPOT + camera update fails with the new iSmartAlarm application (taken over by the company myShare), update the camera manually. Here's how: 1. Turn off the camera (remove from electrical outlet) 2. Insert a card (FAT32 format) with a BIN file Download firmware (BIN file) cca. 10 MB: www.mediafire.com/file/ifnltlbwfify3go/FIRMWARE_660R.bin/file or mega.nz/file/MQAWAJQI#PlxhJBO30OkEDw4ur0BnGZX4a5TUm9lFEeMaaFAU7vs or www.dropbox.com/s/bd958dk2s9m6cm1/FIRMWARE_660R.bin?dl=0 3. Hold down the SETUP button and turn on the camera 4. Hold down the SETUP button for 15 seconds 5. Release the SETUP button 6. Wait couple of minutes, camera will restart and the orange LED will start flashing 7. Then you can add a camera to the application The SPOT + camera can now be added to iSmartAlarm (myShare). I have updated the spot+ firmware successfuly but now althouth it reads the QR code and the back led stays blue, the app says connection time out and dont pass from QR screen. can you help?

@@MrNunoBTT sorry to hear that it's not working for you. in my experience, the camera works even better now in the new app. I used to have lots of connection issues before, after I updated the firmware, I did not have to scan the QR code, the camera was already there and it worked straight away. The camera you are trying to add, was it working before in the old app?

I had to change my password again, I had to change it in February due to not working and got the cameras to connect but not cubeone until last night after watching your video I did another password reset and it updated cubeone firmware automatically 😅 So thanks, I guess doing another reset is what it takes and I definitely appreciate that you took the time to help others. I'm grateful 🙏

Good video. It is really too bad that iSmart Alarm is gone. I really liked their system. But, it is hard to sustain without having people pay a monthly amount for the service. Further, iSmart Alarm didn't really continue to innovate. I was always hoping that they would come out with new sensors and add-ons such as a water sensor or a device that would shut the water of if a lead was detected, a door bell and even a thermostat. When they didn't do that and Wyze came out with the same exact cameras for a lot less and Ring developed their system from just a door bell, you could tell that iSmart Alarm just wasn't going to make it. But, it was great while it lasted. Now onward to a new alarm system.

Thank you for the video, I just found out my cameras don’t work, lol. I have so much issue with my cubes I didn’t really care when they discontinued even though I have them around to play with. I didn’t invested a lot of their gears but 4 cameras. It was a cute little camera but the fun are over. I’m glad I have wired alarm system that are more reliable than the wireless gear.

Thanks good information, very bad of ismart. We have some time to find an alternative. Their customer service was always very bad and much worse the last couple of years. It’s a shame no one took over the company lot of potential if done right.

I have a pretty complete system that has never been used ("I'll get around to it" turned into "well, that was a waste..."). Any ideas as to what to do with the system? Has anybody heard of a developer who has worked out their own software, or a community of users who can make use of the hardware?

Thank you for posting this video. I tried the update as you suggested. When I try to add the camera through the MeShare app, it is asking me to scan a QR code. I do not have one that came with the literature for my iSmart alarm, my guess is that it comes with the MeShare product. Any suggestions you have are appreciated.

Info to share. I changed the batteries on two sensors today. Even thought their status is not updated in the app (one say open when closed and the other reads offline). For some reasons they both works during a test and triggered the alarm. FYI

I was brought here through another sight but I have a ismartalarm cam and everything I go to view my cam it won't connect to wifi cause when I unplug and reply power it is up,but won't stay up

I don't think there is, I've not heard anybody do that yet, we don't even know what frequency they use.

My Spot+ Camera works perfect since January but with the new app, it dosen't work anymore. The app dosen't update. I tried to do your indications (Turn off, insert a card FAT32 with the file, then SETUP), but the orange led still fix and I can't hear it (doesn't restart I think)... My others sensors works fine, but not my camera :(

Hello, same issue than you with my Cubeone (red light permanently), impossible to update my Cubeone (V2.11.1.10 to V2.11.1.28), the update never start. Do you think it could be possible to update the Cubeone device directly by USB port ? Second question, do you how it could be possible to have in this case the good firmware ? ;o)The cherry on the cake. Currently, my alarm is out.

Sorry, but I do not think it is possible to update cube one via USB port. I also had to try a few times and in the end the update did complete. it will lag a few times. Leave it for at least 10-15 minutes, don't cancel it. Good luck!

Hello Zoltan, Thanks for your video, maybe you can help me with the following issues. I didn’t get any answer from the meshare support. In the home mode the sirens are not triggered by the contact sensors. I can see the mode have issues since I do not get the sirens count down when arming. Additionally the sirens are triggered by the IR sensors even though they are disarmed in the mode setup page. The only solution I found is to unplug the Motion sensors and to use the ARM mode only. I could not find any forum for support apart from some comments in Reddit. Have anybody experienced that? Tanks a lot

Well they mentioned that the PRO is not working with the new app. So far I don't think anyone has managed to get it to work with any other app or change firmware.

My sensors do not audibly chime anymore. Does anyone know why? I can’t find a setting in the new app so Maybe this was a reduced function any help we have a person in the home that we need to have the chime operable for monitoring movement for his safety.

I have a iSmartalarm and for security reasons I need to check who accesses my camera, how many users and when they access my camera. I try to find something related to this in the app, but I don't see anything about it. Are you able to help me with this?

Great Video! Thank you. I have had a similar experience. Unfortunately, I have the problem that my cube no longer appears in the app at all. The support reacts relatively slowly. The last reply email took over 20 days and didn't help at all.

How did you update the cube multiple times. I can see my sensors but they show as open when they are really closed. Even after powering off.

I tried to update the cube about 3 times because it was just hanging, so I closed the app and tried again until it finally worked. If the sensors show as open, I would remove the sensor battery while the door is open and put it back then close the door. It worked for some people

Hi, I had the same issue, that the sensors all showed open, when they were actually closed. But then I just opened and closed the doors. And the sensors changed status and are now right. BR Olli

I have downloaded the updated app and I can see my cube and camera but when I click on them it says that they need to be updated but when I try it just says that my phone and camera/cube are not on the same WiFi network.

it is possible, if you have more than one SSID. I have three SSIDs, so I need to make sure I am on the same wifi network. If that's not the case for you, try logging off the app and logging back in and see if it works.

I just updated the app and I had issues updating the firmware. Only the cube was there and even after updating none of my sensors are showing

The sensors should be there inside the cube. Press monitor to the right of the cube one.

It should automatically ask you to update. If it doesn't, you will most likely need to contact meShare, and their response time is not very fast

Hi and thanks for the great video. The iPhone app updated but it now looks the same as the ismartalarm pro app, meaning pretty useless. Cannot see any device nor add them. You seem to have to have everything working on Android, any news on iOS?

I have not tested on iOS, I will try it today on my old iPhone. Did you log on using your email address or phone number? When I logged on with email, I got no device, just like you. Then I logged on using phone number and that's when the cube one and the camera showed up

@@zoltar99 you are very right...I logged in with my mobile number and it works somehow. But then do you know what happens? I close the app and open it again, and my account logged in with my mail address instead than mobile # ... result: I don’t see any device again 🙈

@@paolocencioni2487 I managed to test on my ipad. Everything works. However, I believe that the account with email and the one with phone number are two different accounts. I reset the account via email and when I logged on with phone number, it didn't recognize the new password, I had to use the old password instead. Then I logged on with email, and it worked with the new password, but no devices showed up. So it is clear to me that they are separate accounts.

I don't think you can add any new sensors at the moment. They say "Currently, the new ISA app doesn't support adding/removing devices. Hopefully this will change soon.

Hello Zoltar99 thanks a lot for this great video = Nice iniative. I noticed on IOS app store there two appq. Ismartalarm 2.13 today and Ismartalarm pro version 2.0. I though this info migh help others stuck with not the ability to add devices.

That's a strange one, this is probably a stupid idea but I would try to remove the battery from the remote and put it back and see if it starts working.

Have the same issue that the remote tags are not working, showing offline. The rest is working so far. A battery in out or pressing the buttons did not help.

With the new app the only things showing up are the cameras. I don't even have the Cube One. I can't find anywhere to arm/disarm the system. I logged out and logged back in with my phone number, and rebooted the Cube One with no effect. I've emailed meshare 4 times in the last two with no replies at all. Any ideas?

That's not good, you should have the cube one in the list of devices. I assume it must be a mess up in their database, I don't think anyone else but meShare can help you with this problem. Eventually "Joshua" will respond to your query, however it might take a few weeks.

Sorry, I just realised you mention the Icamera keep pro, it is currently not supported in the updated app. You'll find it in the FAQ in the app.

Hi, only 2 of my 6 sensors are working after the update. they blink if I open door or window, but not seen a reaction in the app or get a notification. Battery is fine and they are still shown in the app but no function . Gebootet the cube already changed battery no change. any idea or tipps?

Not much really, meShare are the only ones that might be able to help. It is strange that it stopped recognising sensors after the update. But it seems that the software is quite buggy, as we all had different issues, so it is hard to give an advice on this one.

I have installed the new app and everything works with one exception. I have notifications set to off on the home screen I set the mode to Disarm I have all the individual devices' sensor notifications set to off when sensors are opened. Yet each time a sensor is opened I receive a notification. I've tried everything I know of but still can't fix this problem. I never had this problem before and I have had the system for 5 years. Any advice welcomed.

The new app is not really up to scratch. I have mine configured to send me notifications whenever a door is opened, even if the system is disarmed, and it works fine. I will test it to see if I can replicate your problem. Will try to leave a reply soon.

@@paulreinach I found a review for the Gigaset alarm system, it seems pretty neat: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/i96cZc-mlrfZqmg.html. The problem I see is it doesn't have a remote control or a keypad, you can only control it with your phone. I see it as an inconvenient. Personally, I am looking at a Tuya based alarm system which also has GSM backup.

Have you used the email or mobile phone number to log on to the app? Try both methods. I had the same issue logging on with the email address, when I used the phone number the cube one appeared with all the sensors. If that doesn't work, your other option is to email meShare. I know they are not very fast to respond, but keep perservering.

I'm afraid the iSmartalarm system is no longer to be trusted, lots of people having all sorts of issues. Fortunately mine still works ok, I changed batteries on sensors and they worked afterwards. That doesn't mean I rely on it. I just use it as a secondary backup alarm system.

If you tried logging in both via email and phone number and it still doesn't appear in the app, your only chance is to get in touch with meShare and hope they can help you. I know they take ages to respond, nothing we can do about that. Otherwise not much to do except buy another alarm, really. I'm already looking to replace mine, since we have no guarantees that they won't pull the service completely at any moment.

I still have everything except the Keep Pro working (6 door/windows sensors, 3 motion sensors, 6 cameras, keypad, 2 key fobs) the alarm itself is useless (it refuses to disarm) but monitoring works remotely for doors, motion and cameras. I'm going to continue using it for monitoring until my new Simplisafe system arrives. Then I'll just use the cameras until meShare lets it die.

My spot + wasn't connected to my local network due to a wrong password (i recently changed my provider box) and now i'm unable to update it. I tried to re-install it but it's not working, i scan the qrcode and the spot tells me qr code is found and then nothing. Blinking yellow light. I will try to update manually with your bin file but... i don't think it will work. If it doesn't, i still have a clipboard tho....

I purchased the ismartalarm 18 months ago and have not tried to install it until now :(... It appears it is not possible add my cubeone.. Is there anyone who has successfully managed this ?

Hi Peter, according to their website, it is no longer possible to install a new ismartalarm system. I don't know if by contacting them directly they might agree to register it for you, but otherwise I'm sorry, you won't be able to install it from new.

@@pjamesjohnson unfortunately not, I don't think the sensors can be added to another system, they basically just left the systems that were active before but cut the possibility of adding any new sensors or devices, as far as I know. Not sure they have changed this policy lately, better check directly with them or read the FAQ on their website before throwing away anything.

This alarm system was always terrible. There were so many glitches in the system. I remember signing up to buy the keypad early; waited months without communication from the company after paid order. When it was delivered, it didn’t work. I set the alarm with it and went to the movies; came back home and the alarm didn’t trigger. System was a bit laggy, I am lucky it wasn’t monitored because I would have gotten at least 3 false alarms from not being able to deactivate in the time. If it weren’t a toy and actually worked well, it would be nice and more as expected. They system wasn’t reliable. Ring is better, cellular and battery backup monitoring $100-120 bucks per year. It’s reliable and they have the staff to actually unroll enhancements to the product.

I have changed the battery on my sensor but it’s saying it’s still offline?

If it was working before, then I would try a third battery, just in case.

@@rigbyrib100 it is indeed strange. If it was working in the new app before you changed the battery, I don't see any reason why it should not work. I changed a few sensor batteries recently and had no issues. If nothing else works, you may need to get in touch with customer support for help

@@rigbyrib100 yes, I changed the battery to one of the door sensors recently. I have heard people who were unable to add back a sensor after deleting it, I would be careful with that, but in the and if it shows offline, you might as well take the risk.

They should make Software so you can run it over your personal cloud or NAS so you can use it autonomouslly and not left in the rain with a bunch of useless briks. I kow not everybody can afford such devices but they get quite cheap over time and it would be a permanent solution. My cloud cost 150 nothing compared to the nearlly 500 i spend on their devices.

Well they suck. They gave me an option to stick with their new company but I decided to just trash it. This is because whatever I tried I can never get my door sensors working. Plus my cameras also died on their own... before the change happened. Now I use Ring and couldn’t be happier. Waaaay superior system and owned by a company that won’t abandon it.

The way iSmart handled the shut down was terrible. No notice at all. Thousands of system users left with useless equipment. People lost everything invested in their systems. Companies go out of business and sadly these are hard times but a bit of respect for loyal customers should have been given.

That is correct. They could have handled it much better. They had been handling things badly for a long time. I am still happy that meShare agreed to take us over, I can use my equipment for another year though, which gives me time to do the research and find another system. Hopefully they will decide to keep us on for a monthly fee, though.

@@zoltar99 Yes, it is something to be transferred to a fee base company however the attraction to iSmart was to eliminate the monthly fees. I've already started research on my system replacement. Just really feel the system investment loss. Thank you for getting the word out.

@@bobv7753 I agree, that it was the lack of fees that attracted me too. But the company would have to offer some premium services as well to be able to support the operating costs. I have built myself an alarm system based on Home Assistant, a simple one for now, but which works, and is hosted on my Synology NAS. If we would like to continue with the iSmartalarm after this year of grace, I would expect meShare to put in place some fees.

I found Ring's pay structure to be comparable to meShare's except with monitoring which I would prefer it didn't have. It does not have the range of iSmart's but it is workable. I wish Ring had the user defined custom modes of iSmart. That would have been great. But it is great they have more devices like smoke/co and flood alarms that we wait years for iSmart to deliver.

@@zoltar99 There is one definite downside to self-monitoring. If you have a break-in while you are out of your city (out of your 911 area), you can’t call 911 to get the local police. If you carry the number for the non-emergency switchboard or the local station you can use that but will likely be listening to recorded messages for 3 - 4 minutes before you can get to a live person. The other work-around would be to get a neighbour on the phone & have them call 911.

Thanks for the video. Great job! My cube is on constant red logo, and the new app try’s to update...says it’s complete...but it actually never does and wants to update again...I’ve done this dozens of times to no avail. Any suggestions?

I would get in touch with meShare, I understand there is another way of updating the cubeOne, locally. I don't know all the details but I recall seeing it on one of the Facebook groups.

I couldn't wait to see if meShare will straighen it all out. Possibly they will because their platinum plan is the same costs as Ring's plan $10/mo. I went with Ring, but you may want to buy an additional zWave extender and a really tiny cheap UPS for the extenders

I may do the same. I have a Ring doorbell camera already that we have been very happy with. Can't comment on their customer service though as in 3 years I have never needed any assistance.

It only works until you change a battery in a sensor. Once you have to change a battery that sensor will no longer be recognized.

I believe you, but I also changed batteries in a sensor multiple times to test for this issue which others also reported and never had a problem.

@@zoltar99 This has been part of the root problem of this system since day one. There has been an inconsistency among what's out in the field. I've had my system probably as long as you have had yours. Prior to this last debacle to MeShare I also changed batteries multiple times. Every Sensor and the one key fob that I changed batteries, no longer works. Never triggers and event or alarm. Ignores the Key Fob that had the battery changed. The only thing that still works is the Key Fob that did not have the battery changed. I would love to get my hands on the source code of all of this system. What really cranks me off is like you I knew they were in trouble. I suggested several times to start to charge a fee to monitor the system. What was being provided was very extensive not to charge a fee. There was no way this was sustainable via hardware sales only. Anyway this system is done for me. One, its no longer useful as its broke. Second you can't trust it even if it is still working half way. What I fail to understand is why MeShare did not jump on this and take it over. Its a cash cow waiting. A base of systems that could have generated cash flow. This makes me believe the management of MeShare is about as short sighted as ismartalarm. Getting anyone to answer the customer email is just as nonexistent as its always been.

It had potential but never quite lived up to it. Their cameras kept breaking on me. All 3 failed eventually! They got sooo hot I bet they overheated.

My camera stopped working, so I tried to reinstall it, but then discover that ismartalarm.com no longer exists, and it is totally impossible to install the camera again without that page. Totally useless, I will never buy similar alarms again, the next alarm will be from a large and well-known (established) alarm company, and preferably not china made gadgets. Ismartalarm had nice products in terms of appearance, but I have never been really happy with the functions, it has failed from day one and now it is just electrical waste.
