What are Ripple Cups and why are they so great?
Ripple cups are a firm favourite paper cup of many coffee shops and street vendors around the UK.
They are made by first producing a white single-walled paper cup which is then wrapped again with a corrugated board that has two layers making the cups triple-walled. The triple-walled paper cups give the consumer protection from hot drinks to the hand and are suitable for hot drinks up to 100 degrees and cold drinks.
They are the cheapest paper cup that also offers double or triple-walled features, to find a paper cup at a lower cost you would have to reduce the quality to the single-walled cup which doesn't offer as much heat protection.
The ripple effect to the outside of the cup gives the end user a great feeling cup that provides a good grip on the hands, we often have customers provide positive feedback on the thickness of our ripple cups paper board.
What colours are available in ripple cups?
Our most popular coffee cup is in the kraft ripple cups. Giving an organic look the material is natural kraft brown paper rather than printed with ink. The cups are also one of our best value cups that have the qualities of being double-walled.
Other colours available are the white ripple cups as well as the black ripple cups, both of which are very popular and generic enough to fit into most businesses' decor and branding without having to pay higher prices for bespoke printed cups. What sizes are available in ripple cups?
Without a doubt, the most popular size is the 12oz ripple cup. The 12oz ripple cup is a medium size for tea or coffee and suits tea, latte and cappuccino drinks to go. If you are looking for a flat white cup or a children's drink size then we would recommend the 8oz ripple cups. We also have seen our customers use the 8oz ripple cup for mulled wine and children's hot chocolate.
A great way of increasing your price per serving would be to offer a large 16oz ripple cup or a 20oz ripple cup, but these are not so popular in the UK and the majority of the volume is in the 8oz and 12oz.
