RIPSAW IS COMING BACK to Alton Towers!?

Ripsaw returns to Alton Towers... potentially. A brand new planning application has emerged of the resort wanting to build an 18M tall ride in the place of Funk N Fly.. or in the place Ripsaw used to be in. Funnily enough Ripsaw is also 18m tall and follows the exact same description given by the park in the application. It looks ever more likely that i will be eating my shoe!

I think it's highly likely to be Ripsaw. Which is great because that ride always drew a crowd. There is a rumour of a 3 ride deal with Huss so this would be very much in line with that

Ripsaw was genuinely a good flat ride. It’s up there in my Top 3 of actually fun flat rides that aren’t painful to ride. The other 2 being S&S Screamin’ Swing and S&S Sky Swatter (RIP Slammer) Submission (Chance Double Swinging Inverters) on the other hand is literally a ride from hell- like seriously I can imagine it sat in the fiery inferno depths of the underworld being used as a torture device for the worst of sins.

It’s funny because the Top Spin 1 model which Ripsaw and many others are and the Suspended Model is still a thing on the official Huss Website

I’m sure back in the day ripsaw was branded to have been a bit that flung off nemesis, with nemesis returning, ripsaw makes perfect sense too

just to mention, ripsaw closed due to huss not making that type of top spin anymore so they couldnt get parts, BUT the newer gen ones (such as talocan) are still 18m, so it doesnt make a difference

A Huss floorless topspin is 13,5 meters tall without concrete footers. But Huss can produce custom variants on these rides as well. I think personally since Huss admitted on IAAPA that they were talking with Alton Towers, that a floorless topspin could be a thing.

Due to the measurements, I am not sure if it’s going to be ripsaw,a standard Topspin, has a high of 12 m, it could still be the giant top spin, which is still kind of a rumor cause it’s only have been built once somewhere in the southern east . It would be really interesting to see the giant top spin in real life, there are only a few images of this legendary ride.

I did some research, the standard top spin which is still in production has a height of 16.5 m. Suspended has a high of 13.2 m. Top spin 1 had a height of 18 m(!) top spin 2 had a high of 12 m and giant top spin had 20.75 m

I like your thumbnail name of the ride. I think the Revenge part of the name would be a nice nod to Remeses Revenge and for the story of the awakening Nemesis monster. It would be too confusing to name it Nemesis Revenge so I would name it Revenge on ….. Ripsaw or Phalanx.

I think they could theme it as the nemesis monster having a bit of a tantrum 😂. The big drill that went across the structure of the ride could be a big tentacle as they are on nemesis, all the things to do with the new nemesis could also be used with ripsaw

The Concrete Base might be 1.5m tall and the ride classic top spin model on Huss is 16.5m tall so could very well be the return of Ripsaw
