The success of the guitar in the first third of the 19th century was largely due to the ability of composers to fuse it with other salon instruments. Composers such as the guitarist Ferdinando Carulli saw in this field a commercial niche that even led to organological experiments such as the one that gave rise to the guitar d'amor or arpeggione. Rebay and Schubert complete this programme performed by Joaquín Riquelme and Pedro Mateo González.
