When King Viserys ii Targaryen was crowned king few could have predicted the course of events that would lead him to the iron throne. The Succession of his brother king Aegon iii seemed succure, the the young deaths of King Daeron and King Baelor meant the throne now passed to the 52 year old second son of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and Prince Daemon Targaryen.

The Dance Of The Dragons will be the focus of the plot of the new HBO spin-off House Of The Dragon coming in 2022. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase. The House of the dragon was crumbling and the events that was about to follow would only cause more damage to both sides of the war.

Imagine becoming a father at 13, your wife is nearly 20 who you were forced to marry while captive, one of your uncles brutally murdered your mother, your father dies in a battle with your other uncle, your brothers are dead, your only surviving brother is deeply depressed, later dies, one of your nephews starts a war, dies in it, the other nephew is a religious nut, starves himself to death, your son boinks your niece, she has a bastard with him, who also starts a war. You spend your whole life cleaning up your family’s mess, then your wife abandons you, you finally become king and then your own son kills you for the throne. Oh, and the last dragon dies while your egg never hatched Viserys really needed a hug

Viserys II is probably the most underrated king in ASOIAF. He ruled the realm while Daeron warred and Baelor prayed, and while his reign was short, was positive for the most part. Granted, I'm not entirely happy with how he became king, but I think he was a good king and could've been a second Jaehaerys.

A great King and Hand who doesn't get enough credit went through a lot in life basically ran the realm since he was a teenager supported all his Kings I know he wouldn't support his rebellion but I believe he would have appreciated his grandson's Daemon Blackfyre's honorable character

In reality, Viserys II would have favoured Daeron II more. Of course, despite disagreement, he would respect Daemon as a warrior, but at the time of truth, Daeron II would be his favourite grandchild.

@jorgebersabe293 oh I think you are right. Daeron would be his favorite, especially with him being older and being the guy who has been doing all the administration for decades . But I still think he would have liked Daemon Blackfyre he's a very honorable person and was charming.

When I read the part where he was reunited with his brother Aegon III I was smiling ear to ear with tears of joy. Knowing all of the Trauma and guilt that Aegon carried for blaming himself for his death just to be vindicated by their reunion was something that he so desperately needed. My favorite King after Jahaerys

Given all the evidence, I think the rumors about Aegon IV killing his father are likely true. Viserys II was essentially the last person left keeping Aegon in check. With him gone, Aegon could pretty much do anything and any maiden he wanted.

@@Caramelo23606 I don't think is downright said but I do think it's insinuated that the reason Aegon the Unworthy was so bad was due to jealousy for his younger brother Aemon also known as the Dragonknight. Aemon was constantly being said to be the best knight that ever lived and while Aegon was apparently great with a sword in his younger years but never compared to Aemon. He also knew that Naerys was in love with Aemon so that probably didn't help. Also Aegon had a lot of issues, like his ehm nightly activities. It's said he bedded over 900 women so there's that. He gave positions of power to people who were terrible and hated his son so much he started making the claim that Daeron wasn't his. He legitimized his bastards knowing it would cause trouble and the realm bled for it for years all the way up to the main events of the story with fAegon.

Aegon IV was made that way by many factors: -His father Viserys was a man who was a workaholic and his uncle Aegon III was a brooding man, both of them very uninvolved figures. -His mother Larra left when he was 4 years old, dying years later, which left in Aegon a very deep emotional wound that never healed and taught him to associate women with abandonment and hurt. -His cousins Daeron and Baelor were the best general and the best loved, whereas his brother Aemon was the best knight, which was a hard blow for him because he not only expected to be the best, but also to earn the approval of his absent father Viserys.

Ironically, Aegon III's line lived on through the Blackfyres. From the loins of the two surviving princes came the seeds of the Blackfyre Rebellions.

You are forgetting House Longwater, House Plumm and House Penrose. They are even mentioned in ASOIAF series. All of these came from Aegon 3's bloodline

Interesting, Rhaenyra introduced then baby Viserys to her father just before he died. One (elder) Viserys’s decisions lead to the downfall of the Targaryen dynasty, while his namesake grandson brought back some of the dignity and stability to the throne.

Gotta give Viserey 2 credit his brother was broken but had a decent reign his brother 2 sons really had a failed reign. If it weren’t for Viserey 2 the realm could fell into chaos again he did great as hand. Even though his son was a pos which his video will be like a dummy guide on how to be the worse king.
