I like how the OT, which had NO plans for being a trilogy had a better "planned" and more consistent trilogy in lore and writing than the sequel trilogy, which was a planned trilogy from the start.

Anakin was the chosen one. Keep in mind two things: 1. Anakin destroyed the Sith and brought balance to the Force. But then Sidious cheats death and comes back. So Rey, powered by Anakin and 1000 generation of Jedi destroy him and the Sith living through him again. 2. The prophecy states that “through him will ultimate balance be restored.” Through him, but not necessarily by him.

Why didn't the empire just tilt the ship at the end and let the resistance fighters fall off.

I knew right away that Fin wanted to confess his feeling for Rey. They're really apparent in The Force Awakens and are his motivation in the beginning parts of The Last Jedi. I'm sure as a trooper he never had time to express himself this way and I'm guessing that all of you would fall as hard if you were in his shoes. Funny if you think about it...Fin always wanted to run FAR FAR away with Rey to keep her safe from the ultimate danger that was Palpatine. Maybe his force sensitivity convinced him she was in mortal danger (which she was).

SO you are saying the 3 plus million people aboard the star destroyers just had to patiently wait for their liberator Ben Skywalker to find the planet to compel palpatine to finally wake them up from stasis under water they weren't able to project sos like Leia did? IDK seems kinda convenient

All of these things should have been explained in the movie. We shouldn't need to go hunting for these answers after the fact, in order for things in the movie to make sense.

Anakin is the chosen one. The possibility of him not being it contradicts not just the prequels and the OT, but also the saga as a whole (and also george’s idea). Star Wars is the history of the fall and rise of Anakin Skywalker, the chosen one, the one who would bring balance to the force

"How could the X-Wing fly when one of it's wings was missing?" An X-Wing only needs four S-foils in combat. When it's just traveling through space, they fold into two. So Rey probably just didn't need four wings to fly Red Five. Also, it's a spaceship. It shouldn't need wings at all.

Anakin is the chosen one because the clone wars is still canon and they say he is the chosen one. Rey isnt the chosen one she doesnt bring balance to the force she simply destroys the sith for the moment. Anakin brought balance because the jedi were too strong and the sith were on the edge of extinction. By killing the jedi he balanced it out and made it possible for the grey jedi like Luke to resurface and bring true balance by practicing both sides of the force and using it as the living force. Rey isn't a jedi ben isn't a jedi they're force users. Grey jedi if anything. The force was balanced before they showed up they're just maintaining the balance.

Anakin fulfilled the prophecy, and almost took control of Rey, she was weakened, and bring balance to the force as he once did. Ben achieved something that his grandfather never could, save the one he cared about from death, but sacrificing himself.

If Leia was always a Jedi with the Force, then why didn't she just train Rey in The Force Awakens? If Luke was gone, why didn't she take up the responsibility he left behind? Why would The Last Jedi be titled that if Luke was never the last?

You‘re wrong on many of these things.. But let me just point out one thing: If Palpatine had learned the secret to immortality from Darth Plaguis, then Plaguis would still be around, too. Furthermore it seems Palpatines survival will be explained by him using a wormhole or something in an upcoming novel.

J.J. Abrams did say in a Q&A after one of the premieres that Fin was going to say that he was Force sensitive. Also, it should be worth mentioning that the planet Kylo found his Sith wayfinder was Mustafar. It has since had its lava levels lowered, thus allowing vegetation to regrow. This is why we see Kylo's fight in an ashy forest.

Another though on the last one is that Palpatine coming back was felt across the galaxy, so people knew they had to fight or lose forever. When it was just the First Order and not Voldemort, people had an easier time convincing themselves to stay home.

I thought in Last Jedi no one showed up when the call for help went out because they didn't like Rian Johnson's movie.

So you think that JJ is really saying that Rey was the chosen one? Did JJ said that? Are they really dismissing what Lucas said about Vader's character arc (rise, fall and redemption), which was the true meaning of bringing balance to the force? I thogut this trilogy was compatible with an already fulfilled prophecy. I mean, that balance had been restored in episode IX and we now were in a new setting

They of course left so many unanswered questions. I feel with Ben Solos case it could've have been Leia somehow linking her life force to her son's and once he completed his task he became one with the force. In Finns case he is starting to develop his force powers and that's what I feel he wanted to tell Rey.

the reason they dint do the Holdo meanuvre is also explained in the movie.. someone asked in the resistance breifing "Can we do a Holdo meanuvre?", someone answered "its 1 in a million chances for it to work"

Regarding force healing, it's been said that it has been used on previous Star Wars movies It was specifically mentioned that Obi Wan used it in A New Hope. He used the force to heal Luke after the sandpeople attacked. It was also mentioned that Palpatine used the force to heal Anakin during the transformation into Vader. Remember also that Rey had the ancient jedi texts. She probably learned about force healing from those texts.

Actually the Holdo maneuver was another retcon - someone asked 'can we pull a Holdo maneuver?', and then someone said 'no way, it's a one-in-a-million chance' (i don't remember who FInn was talking to at the time). So they retcon it from happening again, and explain why it hasn't been used in the past.

After 30 long years, The Death Star inevitably would’ve been moved or at the very least been erode by the ocean, whether or not another storm did occur within that span (which is pretty likely). Even if nothing moved the Death Star, how would the person who designed the knife know it wouldn’t. 3. It would be ok if Fyn was force sensitive, but they need to make that clear. If this is truly the final one, no stones should be left unturned that wouldn’t be solved in later projects like the mandalorian. 4. Why wouldn’t Palestine just stop using the force lighting if that is what they are using to destroy him? 5. The idea of force healing has been discussed in the lore, but has never been used to completely resurrect another person. Jedis are not even allowed to force heal, as it is the sith who would do would seek to live forever, as Jedis would never seek excess and believe everything happens for a reason. They don’t cling on to things as much as the sith. 6. Ghosts being immortal and able to call down lighting while hold a lightsaber, would totally be strong enough to kill palpatine. 7. The argument that Lando was able to able to gather millions of fighters in only a couple hours, when nobody came during a much much easier battle is rediculous.

2 problems. “Why do force ghosts not kill the emperor - obi wan says strike me down and I’ll be more powerful than before. He also says to Luke if you face the emperor I cannot intervene. So I’d suggest that the same holds for Rey. Probably as force ghosts they cannot interfere directly with the affairs of the living. Lars homestead - I can see lukes light sabre being buried there but Leias? The only time she even went to tattoine was to rescue Han from Jabbba. Makes zero sense to bury her Sabre there should have gone to Alderaan (at least the asteroid field that was alderaan and buried it there or even the arch-to former temple or even Naboo as that was her bio family’s home.

If tie fighters have no hyperdrive how did they keep up with the millennium falcon when they were hyperspace skipping? 🤔 This movie make no sense

I wonder if Palpatine was really the biological grandfather of Rey, or if it was more of an Anakin situation. Just like Plagueis basically "created" Anakin, maybe Palpatine did the same with either one of her parents, or with her. If this was actually the case, the whole saga effectively revolves around two sith playing god, trying to create the equivalent of the Antichrist, but ultimately creating the downfall of their whole order. This would be delicious, delicious irony of the highest degree.

Some of these explanations should just be: "yeah we are gonna have to reach HARD to explain this"

The one that pissed me off was Palpatine telling Kylo very clearly to kill Rey, like several times. even when kylo proposes an allance, he just keeps on saying to kill her. and then at the end of the movie, his entire plan relied on her not being dead? like what if kylo accidentally killed her and the sith is done forever.

Do you think that if Carrie Fisher hadn’t died that Kyle would’ve been talking to her force ghost rather than a memory of his father at the end?

6:03 "Pulling Holdo maneuver is a suicide mission and nobody wants to die" That explanation though. They could have easily put a droid to pilot a ship and pull that maneuver instead. Better yet, build dedicated hyperspace missiles. Also for the "nobody wants to die" part, pretty sure people are willing to sacrifice themselves for their causes, we see the example of that in the canon itself, sometimes with suicidal intent, the Green Leader at the Battle of Endor is one notable example.

I'm such a Starwars nerd that I learned how to do 3d animation and special effects to be able to make my own little starwars film, So I went to Thailand and made what I imagine a StarWars Travel film would look like lolol. It's fun and honestly a pretty good first swing at 3d animation - if you want more StarWars stuff to consume, it's on my channel and I'm really proud of it!

3:40 Ya know, as many times I’ve seen RoS, it’s never occurred to me until recently that even in the very beginning Finn displayed his Force ability. For example, his response regarding Poe suggesting “bouldering these Ties.” He says “I was just thinking that.” Okay, but given his limited view while in the Falcon’s turret, he’d have to have some form of Force cognition. Because the gantry wasn’t in his target system until after he swung the turret in that direction.

How about the biggest plot hole in the whole Star Wars franchise? Why did they even need to bother wiping C-3PO's memory so he could translate the dagger when D-O could more easily have led them straight to the Sith planet?

How did the first order fleet get defeated? They were beating the resistance, the last order was defeated but how did all of a sudden all first order ships started falling out of the sky?

For those wondering what Finn wanted to tell Rey, Were You Not Paying Attention? He tells Poe what he was going to tell Rey, that she's a Palapatine and he knew it because Leia knew it and told him. Leia most likely sensed that she could trust Finn with the knowledge and that if the time came that she couldn't tell Rey, he would be able to do so. Also, those asking why other Jedi never used force healing, because, and unless it has been retconed, it was a dark side ability. This was established in the comic books that told the story of Cade Skywalker. He was a Jedi that strayed back and forth, way back and forth over the defining line of light and dark. A direct decendant of Luke, he was very strong, but very unstable. He did eventually follow the light and destroy the ruling Sith at the time, Darth Krayt, but in the books it was shown that to heal someone, one had to tap into the dark side and transfer some of their own life energy to the other person. Thus, the Jedi didn't use this power, and any who did, did so by crossing the line and without approval of other Jedi. Now, as I said, that of course depends on whether any current continuity and therefore canon, has not changed this. I haven't read any of the novels or current comics that are now considered canon, so this may have changed.

Ben TIE fighter, the one he used to get to Exegol at the end, looked like an old TIE Fighter, imperial. Maybe there was some intact in the ruins ? Sounds crazy but it’s a nice mirror with Luke’s X-Wing
