@@CraigsChannel those damn ribbons I could totally see how people could mess them up! I was really anxious about messing the ribbons up so I went a little OCD and quadruple checked them before I moved on to the next steps. Honestly putting in those 2 thin screws into the back was the most difficult part for me and my fat fingers. Other than that it was super straight forward. I'm the same dude, I just can't play FPS games without back buttons. I think my KD on CoD would be like a 0.01 with no back buttons 😄 The clicky kit is awesome, the tactile is my favourite as its got a mouse click feel and sound, I did a video on them about a month ago

I have the two button set up myself. I really took a liking to the Xbox series 2 controller magnetic analog sticks and I ordered a series 1 kit (to see if it would fit) off eBay for about $30 w/shipping and added that on. Loving it right now. I’m thinking of building another controller, this time I will add the four button and look for a series 2 controller for parts and use those analog sticks.

My friend has them magnetic sticks, I'm sure he bought them from Amazon for about £15

Always good to hear when an install went well and the persons happy. I've had quite a few people be like "NOPE, fcuk that, to hard!" 😄 If you take your time you'll be fine, maybe it looks harder if people have never opened a pad or something before

I need help please. My pad is a bdm020 my ribbon cables attached to the joy stick are tiny they’re not the big like the ones that come in the packet

I've actually just finished modding a controller for my friend. Got him the Cosmic Red pad, tactile digital triggers and RISE4, so hopefully he's happy with that tomorrow when he grabs it 😁 Glad you managed to do two, you'll not need my video if you do anymore you'll be a professional

Yeah few people have mentioned to me they think the plastic paddles are super sensitive, I think I'm that used to them now I've gotten used to them. The metal ones seem more firm but plastic is still my favourite

There's so many kits I struggle to keep up myself 😄 I've got a box full of stuff. My main pad has digital triggers, removable thumbsticks and the back button kit. If you play CoD triggers are something you might want to look into, I've done a couple of videos on them

@@CraigsChannel 100% I’ve got the Xbox elite controller so I’m used to having the paddles and hair triggers so I’m defo going to be upgrading my PS5 controller

@@SpudMonkey815 I've done a video on the newer Series S/X controller with the back button kit, but it's a bit of a nightmare to fit, if you've no soldering experience I'd never recommend it... the Dualsense kit on the other hand is easy, just a little fiddly. Once you start modding yourself you may never stop 😄 companys like Scuf are super expensive and if your pad breaks they keep it weeks, were as if they ever broke you could fix it yourself 😎

I just went to reply to your message but you deleted it to quick 😄 The board on this one is slightly different to the 2, with it having them extra buttons. Extremerate offer so many mods you could do, removable thumbsticks, digital triggers like a mouse click, digital symbol buttons and dpad etc

Yeah Scuf is so expensive but I think any company that sell you pre built pads will charge a lot of money. The good thing about doing this yourself is IF it ever breaks or you gey stick drift you can put the pad back to standard and send it to Sony. I believe companys who make pads make you wait weeks for them to be delivered then weeks if they need repairing

Yeah exactly mate I’ll let you know how I get on with it on the install I currently have a nacon revolution ultimate controller which I love but when new games come out for ps5 I can’t use the controller annoyingly so this way is brilliant plus you explain the installation process brilliantly and don’t rush it so looking forward to trying it out 👍🏼

That's the thing with the newer games, they just won't let you use the older gen controllers, no idea why! I understand they have new features like the haptic feedback but people like myself don't even use that. I'm really tempted to remove the rumble motors to save a little weight, to see how they feel

@@CraigsChannel with masking tape you dont have the faff of the buttons falling out just as you get it into place... like I did... stripped my pad down 4 times now...lol speaker was wrong way round , on my pad its in a different way from tutorials... and then decided to put hair triggers in and remove rumble motors... can do it without video now... might try it blind folded next time...🤣

If you check my newest comments somebody called Alex is having this issue, I've told them to use some tape as you mentioned. Definitely do a blind fold install, somebody asked me if I could, I said yeah probably I've taken that many pads to pieces haha

I was going to put some gameplay up but I'm not a pro gamer so didn't think people would be interested 😄 My plan was to do a 6 months review on the 2 button kit, to let people know how I'm getting on! I love the 2 button kit, but I'll just have to test the 4 and see how I get on with it. The ps4 I only ever used 2 buttons even though I had 4

The last little bit gameplay I added was my back button kit, at the very end I added a quick clutch clip from Rebirth. I've even got my personal best on a video, managed to drop 20 kills with the back buttons 😁

That pad I use had the removable analog sticks, the original clicky triggers and then the kit. There's two versions of the clicky triggers one doesn't make any noise and the others have a mouse click, they're called the tactile, so if you're after triggers I'd highly recommend them, I did a video not long ago and you'll see how clicky they are. It seems people who've already got the 2 button kit are going to upgrade to this, I didn't think it would be as popular as it has been these past couple of days

Thanks for the comment man, hope you've had a great new year over in the US 😎 There's a few different shells, the textured and the grippy textured like in this video, I did have the older texture on a few older video but think that was PS4, its like drops of plastic but these newer ones are so much better and feel great. The back button kit had 3 different paddles, I mentioned this in a video as people with the v1 paddles like myself broke, but since then I've gotten the v3 paddles which are fine! The metal paddles feel OK, but just a little harder to press and don't have the same click as the plastic, so if anybody was to ask what I prefer it's the plastic all day

I'm 99% sure that's what you can do, as far as I can tell they'll be selling the kit as a whole or just the back buttons with the newer PCB with extra buttons, means you won't have to spend full price again 😁

@@CraigsChannel didn't realise there was different ones. I was after clicky ones, from your description I assume they are the tac ones. The ones I've ordered just say clicky hair trigger. I couldn't find any other ones that were in stock for the older controller.

If you check my videos I think it was like 4 or 5 back, tactile triggers they're called, them are my favourite ones. I didn't realise there was two myself until they landed on my door step 😄

@@CraigsChannel haha typical. They are cheap enough that if I don't like the ones I've ordered I can swap them over for the tac ones when back in stock. Just be the faf of installing them. Assume they have the same short trigger pull just don't have the click?

Yeah they're both pretty much the same, just the tac ones click. Don't get me wrong the normal ones are good but the tac ones better, I've got one pad with normal and one with tacs, always nice to have a choice lol. Like you say they're really cheap and a good little upgrade if you play FPS games

Are you still on the v1 kit? I'm surprised neither of your paddles have snapped, I hope I haven't jinxed you 😄 but IF they do snap, extremerate will send you some new ones out which are the V3 as they've upgraded the paddles to make them stronger. Yeah the grip on the new back case is awesome, my favourite at the moment

@@CraigsChannel yeah I think so, the texture on my back looks like water droplets haha. But yeah I was skeptical when buying as some people said their paddles snapped, but they're still going strong. Is the new kit less sensitive to accidentally hit them? Or is it the same? The amount of times I've picked the controller up or put it down and it has gone off is quite high haha

I'd say they're the same, I'm totally used to the pad now so very rarely hit them by accident. Really good to hear your paddles haven't snapped, but just a heads up if they do you'll get the v3 sent from them as a replacement 👍

Loads of people didn't know about the back button kits but they're slowly getting more and more popular. I'd honestly be lost if I didn't have mine, it's horrible to use a pad without them

You got the black gripped one? You're a lucky man, loads of people tried to order that but said it was out of stock. The grip white or black are both the best to have

I've pre ordered the neon pink controller, let's see if extremerate make a pink back cover so I can match it up 😄

I don't usually cut them when I'm installing for somebody or not making a video for that reason, I can swap it to another pad, but in videos how people how to cut it just so they don't get anything mixed up 👍

Unfortunately you'll have to crack the pad open again and remove the ribbon on the top of the board and re-fit it, that's the one for the touch pad. It's the one on the top that's a little awkward to remove.

I had a strike pack on my ps4 controller but that only has 2 back buttons so just guna have to remember about the extra 2 buttons 😂

You going for the 4 button kit or 2? When you fit the kit just take your time, don't rush and you'll be fine. There isn't much that can go wrong with these pads as there isn't much to them. If you do get stuck though I'm always here

Really? My friend said his black one was a 020, he fitted his kit himself so I can't say for definite if he was right. I've actually pre ordered the pink controller 😄 so hoping that will be a 020

@@CraigsChannel yea I’ve ordered over 120 black ones over the space of 5 months and all were 010. White ones starting 2 months ago is a 60% chance for 020.

He might of mixed them up, he's not the most technically person 😄 The pad my other friend got as a replacement for stick drift was a 020 that's the one he borrowed me for a video but was white. Out of 5 pads 2 of mine have very very slight drift so might send them off and hope I get at least one 020 Did you see the new colours, blue, purple and pink? I thought I'd get the pink as most people will order the other colours and I like to be different lol

@@CraigsChannel yep they look fantastic! I’d definitely would go for purple. Other colours are a bit too soft. Purple would make for such a great colour to mod.

I only use 2 paddles, I find 2 more than enough as I only play CoD and don't really need 4 buttons

If you took phones apart you'll be a pro doing this, I used to fix phones and the screws are so small. You'll have this fitted in a few minutes 😄

You can't really damage anything if you take your time. I've a few videos on mods and explain them the best I can, from back button kits to digital triggers. I've had a couple of people comment saying "piece of shit broke my controller", then when I ask them what's up, I walk them threw step by step and ends up being something simple like a ribbon cable not fully pressed in and they delete their comment 😄

Not yet, they've not yet released the kit for it. I've done some commentary for their video on the extremerate channel, just waiting on them uploading it

Lately people have been putting the ribbon cables in the wrong way, I iusy say relax and keep calm as people think they've broken something when it doesn't turn on 😄 not much can really go wrong with the kit tbh

See I love the noise of the paddles, no idea why 😄 the metal ones are a hell of a lot quiet and feel a bit harder to press. I'm the same, I've only ever used 2 burrows, but... I'm going to try for the next month to master these 4 buttons, if I don't I'm happy with sticking with just 2 👍

2 buttons is more than enough 😁 and like you say much cheaper. These custom pads comapnys sells are so much money. Some are £250-300

The 2 button kit is awesome, if your in no rush for 4 buttons just use the 2 👍

@@CraigsChannel i already ordered the 4. I didn't know they made it. For COD and Fortnite I need at least 3 buttons. I have 4 buttons on my PS4 controller but one is hard to use with my fingers, maybe this one is easier.

What will you be setting the buttons to for CoD? I only have X and O, to jump and slide. I've never played Fortnite but heard you need to press a good amount of buttons to build stuff

@@CraigsChannel on my PS5 I have X Jump and (Triangle) Weapon switch, for sliding I use the analog R3 button. For the PS4 I had X Jump, (Triangle) weapon switch and (Square) reload/pick up/interact. With that set up I never have to take my thumbs off the analogs. I also have R1 and L1 as my Aim and Shoot, it has a faster reaction time.

Ahh see my R3 is my Melee to hit people with my weapon, I've tried using L1 R1 to aim but can't get used to it with my small hands, plus with installing digital triggers that makes them fast enough

Have you tried holding it flat in your hand and pressing the pad ontop?

You should have just dropped them a message their customer service us normally super good. So the rod were to long? Maybe it was a manufacturing fault from the company who make the rods and extremerate didn't know! Is it all working now?

Yeah so say K1 is X and K2 is X. You go back into remap mode, then do K1 to X and it'll cancel it out, or just set it to another button if you want

Have you used back buttons before Mick? Honestly it's so much easier to do stuff, only thing I could say is try them, once you get used to them you'll never go back, everybody says that after using back buttons

Is your kit a 010 or 020? Did you cut the right ribbons?

If only Scuf were cheaper! I seen they brought their new PS5 pad out

@@CraigsChannel I just worry if a) it throws a wobbler and b) will I need to put them back in for next gen games (MW2 etc) similar to clicky triggers, which is a relativly easy undo.

I don't think it'll throw a wobbler, it should be fine 😄 after all it's up to us if we choose to use the vibration feature or not

I'm struggling to use all 4, I'm honest with everybody when they ask me stuff and tbh I'm happier with 2 buttons. I said though I'm going to give these a month or a bit longer to get used to them but 2 is more than enough, plus my hands are really small so that could be an issue

When the pad doesn't turn on its usually the L1 L2 ribbon cable being in the wrong way

Hey man. I think the more you use these the more you hands get used to where the buttons are so your brain will only make you press them when you know you need them. I play other games without needing to press them, I just hold it slightly different. Unfortunately there isn't a way of enabling and disabling them. The only thing you could do is unmap the button, basically the same way you mapped. So hold say K1 and X, the light will flash, that means it's mapped, hold K1 and X, it does a faster or slower flash and just disables it

@@joystickblaze No problem at all, I get back to everybody who messages, it's the least I can do since you popped by my channel 😁 Yeah I know they should do that, be good for people who play loads of different games and want to use certain buttons, maybe have 2 or 4 profiles to flick through. Word on the street is Sony are possibly bringing a back button controller out, but no confirmation, even if they do it'll probably be another year

2 paddle kit is awesome Robert, I'm trying my best to get to grips with 4 but really struggling 😄 I said though I'll give it a month to see how I get on. But I think 2 buttons is more than enough, I've a few videos on the kits now as there are different kinds

I keep saying to people once you have back buttons you don't want to go back, I'm stuck with them for life now haha. Let's see if Sony release some kind of official attachment

Which ones that? You mean like when Sony eventually bring out a back button attachment? I think we'll be waiting a longggg time for that, but I could be wrong! They took years to bring one out for the PS4

99% of the time I get this question it's the ribbon cable for L1/L2 being put in the wrong way. So I'd first double check that, it's super easy to put it in wrong

I've opened probably 40 pads and honestly only gave it a little wiggle with pull and it comes straight out. I've honestly never heard of anybody having an issue removing it, just put the connection bit and not the bit on the board as you could be pulling the wrong bit, generally pull the wire

You checked the ribbons are the right way around? Or made sure you've got the correct ones as in 010 or 020

Check the ribbon cable for the L1/L2 side, people seem to put them in a little wrong make sure they're in the right way

Most of the time it's the L1/L2 ribbon cable, people fit it slightly wrong, either back to front or isn't in the right way, I'd first check that. Also do you know which version your controller is? As there's 3 different ones now a 010 020 and 030

The L1/L2 ribbon cable I'm guessing you've fitted the wrong way around, double and triple check that

It’s the shorter strip that is shorting out my battery I’m 1000% this is install correctly

I remember when I first started doing videos on here people asked if I was Irish, Scottish even Scouse once haha, glad people have an idea I'm from the North East now 😁
