Salary saving split should be like this, 40% for mandatory family expenses (it includes medical, insurance, education, food etc,), 10% to 20% for your family enjoyment (Don't miss the present thinking the future a lot), rest 40% is savings come investment (land, apartment, gold, bond, share market, mutual funds, etc.,)......believe me, i am following this strategy for last 20 yrs.

I'm also a Business consultant I'm having idea for you : for your case you have come out of your current work and have to join on challenging field which develops your individual talent , for ex if you're a painter , you have to learn tricky new designs which can be done by you only , because if company needs you they'll pay you well , if you're ordinary guy nobody needs you average payment only , on that you can't make savings or buy asset .

One question, if T-Nagar land will not grow from 5 Crores to 10 Crores, then how do you guarante the mutual funds will grow multiple times???? I am also in share market for many years, i have invested in land, gold, apartments, independent houses etc., i have better understanding of realistic situation.
