My first memory of Ms. Rita was on, “Living Single”. I knew she was a beautiful soul back then. I love their relationship. Rest In Peace Ms. Rita.

watching RITA on living single with Latifah...she looked so healthy and now seeing her like this really breaks my heart. this brought tears to my eyes.

omg yes this is so heart breaking! i mean she is so insiring that i am watching living single on tv one for the second time and im only 14 but in the few years i have been watching the queen latifah show to living single and the movie joyful noise the years difference in photos of Rita she will always be beautiful

your story about my life would have been through who started I got raped when I was 13 years old and I have no one to talk to about my problems but I don't get this I went through a lot in my bed and whatever I know I have no one to talk to about my problems I hope to meet you meet you one day you like to talk to you about my problems and I've been through in my past but at the end of the day I love you Queen Latifah socialism less use a blessed to have somebody by your side by my side by the side and the mother mistreated Orange or whatever and have not missed your mom you but she's such a sweet person in her life and your life or whatever when you made that show about your mom when she said she had heart face I was wondering how I was thinking about my mom too but it ended it you are blessed to have a woman in your life to love forever amen love you Mama Mama Rita Owens and Queen Latifah

My grand uncle died of Scleroderma in the 1960s and family members always thought he passed from lung cancer. Sadly his daughter has also passed from the disease and now another cousin has symptoms of it. I'm grateful to Rita Owens for opening up about this disease and allowing the public to be informed about it. Scleroderma seems to found among our black population more than any other. I pray that one day a cure is found. Rest in Heaven Mrs. Owens...

Miss Rita was such a beautiful spirit of love, encouragement, insight and nurturance. Her vibrant spirit lit up a room, even on tv to watchers. And she was always a stylish sister too. Wow! I caught the early morning airing today...and was so surprised to see Ms. Owens deteriorating health condition. It was such a BLESSING TO CATCH SUCH A BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, INSPIRATIONAL WOMAN: RITA OWENS! MAY GOD CONTINUE TO WATCH OVER HER AS SHE STAYS SO LOVED BY A BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER, FAMILY, & FRIENDS!!!

I realize that this was several years ago but I just happened to come across this video today (2/27/2022) and it touched me so much!! I lost my mother in 2015 from lung cancer!! She and I were going through cancer treatment at the same time by the same doctors and it was a very trying time in my life!! Thank you Queen Latifah for sharing this with the world!! ❤🌍

I came across this video today and it brought warm heartfelt tears watching this interview with Queen Latifa and her Mom Miss Rita💖 Reminded me of my Mom who had the same loving and kind hearted personality and humbleness about her and her Faith shining through her whole being 🙌💖 May you Mom Rest in Peace 🙌💖 With her personality she surely touched many hearts. Queen Latifa you and your family was truly Blessed with a Mom like her because she must have instilled valuable life lessons and morals of life.
