Grimdark music inspired by the Adeptus Mechanicus from Warhammer 40k. This track is about the rite of sanctifying machinery in the name of the Machine God. Heavily inspired by the Mechanicus game soundtrack by Guillaume David.

Hey everyone, just to let you know I've now got my music on all the main streaming platforms. There's a link in the description to my Spotify for all those interested. Also, sorry for the delay on the upload. Ideally I'd be able to get them done a bit quicker but life happens and so it can take a bit longer every now and then. Thanks again for all the support.

Welcome back! No worries about the upload schedule, quality trumps quantity every time. I like the track its going on my playlist, but Sacred Machinery is still my favorite so far. Opinion: The playful synth evoke Subnatica a little, but lacking a truly overriding deep rumble or harder bass line to hold rhythm if feels a little strong and edges the track into a FTL instead of warhammer. I think it would have worked better with harder base to make it feel more like a high energy battle track. Maybe something to play with is using the synths as a melody before a big bass drop into harder mechanicus roar. The mellow off at 2:00 was begging for strong closing statement Noosphere style. Make what you want, and dont let comments dictate your flow, im having a blast with your work either way, I just like theory crafting now that someone is addressing a niche I care about. :D

I really appreciate your feedback and encouragement. I definitely agree with the FTL vs warhammer comment. Sometimes the music pulls me in a particular direction as I’m making it. I’d rather stick to the warhammer/Guillaume David vibe as it’s actually what I prefer, but then at certain points I can get stuck and the easiest way to move forward given my music background is into the slightly more modern electronic domain. I actuallly spent a lot of time on this track and was struggling to get it into the mood I love most about Guillaume David’s work. But hey I’m still learning lots each time I finish a track so hopefully I will improve and find my style. Again thanks for the feedback 🙏

Having listened to all of these amazing tracks a few times and comparing them to the Mechanicus Soundtrack, it strikes me how different yet similar the Adeptus Mechanicus sounds in both interpretations. I can only really describe it synesthetically, but with the soundtrack from the game, it would always look like this old, angry behemoth of ritual and technology marching to war. In your music, this same giant seems at rest, like you are just wandering around this enormous entity and watching the intricate processes that keep it running in detail. It's a really awesome change of perspective and I keep looking forward to where you'll take it next.

That's a really cool perspective. The sentence 'old, angry behemoth of ritual and technology marching to war' is an awesome description. My music is probably more dark and has a lot less high frequency content so it sounds less energetic I think. I've been liking the idea of including more mechanical and synthetic sounds in places too, so that probably conjures the imagery of being deep amongst the machinery.

And yes - I hope you don't mind that I'm adding all your content to an open playlist on the theme of mechanicus music. In general, it may even help to find references. Or not, the works of the author whose name is distorted by the translator are very good. It is worth paying attention to the soundtracks of the game IXION - he worked on them and there are traces of the main themes of mechanicus.

Thanks man! I really love your Conglomerat track so I'm happy to know you appreciate my music too. The choral sound is a choir with some formant shifting and automated filtering. I don't know how Guillaume gets his choir sound but it was the closest I managed to get.

Yeah, I was really happy with this image. Here's the exact prompt I used in Midjourney: A Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis painting of a menacing war titan from warhammer 40k surrounded by a crowd of people. The location is a dark battlefield. There is a red hooded tech-priest standing on an alter. He is raising a staff with an incense burner on the top. --ar 16:9
