Күн бұрынSurprise, I’m opening a new Tarot deck! It’s the Ritual Tarot by Tiera May, which is a modern collage deck without any numbers or titles. Here are my first impressions of this impressive work of art, plus an entire flip through of the Tarot deck, enjoy.

This is a wonderful deck. A little update on the card stock: upon shuffling it and handling the cards, they don't fan out really well. This may get better in time. It's due to the absence of lamination (or any other finish) on the cards. I predict easier and visible wear on this deck, especially on the black backs. I personally don't mind that, but it's for your information and give you a more complete impression of the stock. Thanks!

@@AstralLadyTarot oh ya I just saw a video where you said you didn't like them as much or wasn't gonna use them as much , I can see why, there's so many other cool decks . That's what I like about tarot. There's so many of them. 😀 I like those Luna ones too they glow in the dark. 😀

I love this deck. I edged it in black, and it turned out wonderfully matte. It looks beautiful.

Beautiful, beautiful deck - love it! i enjoy having no titles and the complexity of the collage. I hope she manages to offer a cheaper edition as £120 UK pounds (inc VAT & postage) is way outta most peoples budgets for a deck. On RWS style 10 of cups, I actually read it more as an obsession with ideal fantasy, not bring satisfied and wanting the dream like the Thoth Satiety, so when RWS decks go overboard on the family, house and rainbow (best example I can think of: Tarot of the Abyss, straight up influencer pic) I move to Satiety instead of the original Golden Dawn Book T meaning or the RWS meaning.

I definitely just bought this deck after watching the video. It is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I don't usually buy at this price, but the art has hooked me. I usually have a hard time with busy cards of collage, but this one feels intentional and not chaotic to me. It has a very good vibe!!!

I would edge with gold because it seems to me a regal deck. Second choice would be black to fade into the darkness of the deck.

Thanks for mentioning that, Sylvain. I felt a bit alone in this opinion. But here it is, and it might be the new "baby in the Sun card" or "pregnant Empress" trope

That 4 of pentacles... I just saw pizza hahaha. Well, most of the pentacles 😂. Very interesting deck. Somehow I've been considering getting a collage deck and the timing of some channels showing these collage decks... Yeah, "divine timing" hahaha.

I absolutely adore this deck and just got mine last week !! So magical ! I had the same reaction about the five of wands and I think the horizontal wands are actually two tail ends of an arrow so I think that instead of one they count as two, or that's how I'm choosing to see it.

Anna! I love your ramblings! This a BEAUTIFUL deck. I guess this will be on my birthday list. The imagery is clear but also is flexible, not so rigid as RWS decks can be. I would edge this in a bronze color, or a dark blue…there are so many possibilities. I will definitely be revisiting this video. Thank you so much for sharing this and your opinions.

Finally got to this video! Yeah, now that I’ve seen all the cards, I think that once I get this, it will be more of a deck used in ritual or maybe an oracle deck. I’m not feeling this as a tarot (for me). It’s oh so beautiful, though!

Oh wow! This deck is really fascinating and beautiful. Personally I would prefer it with titles though, although you’re right, they can easily be added with a thin marker… I’m intrigued!!!! 😊 I would probably edge it in black or gold. 🖤

Stunning deck !! really love the No title part ! makes it even more interesting! There is some tantric dakini and Voyager tarot that I really enjoy ! Would be curious to see a 10 cards spread to see how the cards respond to each other! Great review Anna !!

Love this walkthrough. I personally don't get PJ Harvey from her music sonically, but visually I see the connection. I love that the deck has no titles and the way she explains it. Do you have the Lioness Oracle Tarot? That's another collage love of mine, and of course the beloved OOP Spolia.

I don't have the Lioness but I've always found it beautiful too. Collage decks are having a moment. Spolia I never got and at the time was really intrigued, but it turns out I find the deck a bit too minimalistic. I like the crazy "everything all at once"

Wonderful first impression & flip through of such an equally wonderful new deck. I just ordered mine & looking forward to pathworking with them. I also love the fact that the cards are borderless as well, so that the images can just run wild. IMO if James Wanless' Voyager Tarot & Arthur Taussig's Alchemical Visions Tarot conceived a love child, it would be Tiera's deck.

Ooooh wow- such a beautiful collage deck! I do believe I’m smitten. And as a collage artist myself I can be quite picky. Did you mention cardstock? How does it shuffle? I may have missed it. Great job reviewing this entrancing deck, Anna. Keep us posted on how you get on with it. 🙏🏽💗🎨🪶

Thank you for your flip through! The 5 of Wands- for me the horizontal Wand is a "tricky" one because it is not one, but two different Wands (look the opposed direction of their feather endings-😉) . Very interesting deck👌!!! Hope one day I will be able to buy it. And I like very much the idea it has no titles- I think we all have our own preferences😁 isn't it? The same thing with Strength(Fortitude) and Justice(Adjustment) and their order in the deck... I usually don't like the gold edging but this time I would probably choose Gold because somehow this deck feels Royal to me, and because I also like the feeling of symmetry- and this Golden Symbol at the backs screams for some kind of pairing... But each colour you choose will be good😘!

So far there is one card I am completely disappointed with- 10 of Swords: I am just sick seeing again and again the plain image of a body pierced by 10 Swords🙁- for me this card is much more than this... Of course I can "live " with it, but... Besides congrats to you Channel Anniversary🌺✨️❣️💝- somehow I missed your live😪...!!! Have a nice day!!!

@@Astrid-Ewunia I agree that the ten of swords is more than just that. Somehow, though, seeing a photograph of a naked body with these daggers or knives hanging over them gave me a visceral reaction that I wasn't ready for. Therefor, it passed the test and I like this particular card :)

Hi Anna, words can’t express how I feel about this deck. The images are not reversible, the images are quite confusing I could only recognize a few of the majors and the minor images weren’t very consistent from card to card, she should of used numbers and titles on her first release. The deck is too large it’s going to be hard to handle for some, It looks like I’m not a fan of collage type tarot decks the regular tarot decks we use are hard to interpret now, I don’t think you would use this deck in readings for customers, but maybe you would you’re a very good reader Anna. Well that’s enough for now I’m sure I’ll be on your s _ _ t list for a while after reading my opinion I hope for not to long, have a good day Anna✌🏻❤️

Hey Earthblues! I can admit it's not for everyone, that's true. Her second release will have titles, though, that will help. I am just the weird kid who enjoys this big, strange, collage deck without titles and numbers ;) I actually believe it will work well for customers, although I am first diving deep with it personally

@@AstralLadyTarot Hi Anna, I know her 2nd release will have titles because you said so in the walkthrough, and for the record you’re not a weird kid, I love decks without titles & numbers pocket size ones, I own quite a few, I have a few large Oracle decks but no Tarot decks that size. The deck will work with customers because it’s you doing the reading, I don’t think I could do it. I do enjoy collage, on album covers, birthday cards, etc but not so much on Tarot decks, you have your work cutout for you with this deck, but if anyone can do it you can✌🏻

Hi dear Candy! Oh I know.. perhaps they find a way to lower the price. Or keep an eye out for a good sale! That's a good tip, actually... start light and go darker with the edging if I want to go more bold. I will first work with it more before settling on an edge colour. Thank you so much!
