Jos you look so lovely today at your Ritz afternoon tea! I am not impressed that they forgot you and the absence of your slice of cake. I know you had to dash but it looked like they were more concerned about prep for the next guests while you were a present guest! Yes, please compare the London to Paris Ritz experience. What a treat it was to discover this video this morning.☺️You looked so happy! I visited in ‘19 and it’s a cherished memory. Maybe I’m being critical but I thought the service you had wasn’t quite what I’d expect from the Ritz and the cake descriptions should be have been provided. I still enjoyed your Vlog very much. It was kind of the Ritz to give you the book. What a magical trip you had ☺️✨☕️

Hey how are you doing? It was a chaotic experience and I loved the afternoon tea book the lovely staff gave me. It's an interesting read as I obviously love everything afternoon tea inspired. I plan to do a comparison video on my personal experiences at both places. Have a lovely weekend!

Thanks for watching! I also went to The Ritz about 10 years ago for afternoon tea with my sister for a joint birthday and it was lovely. My sister had a really nice cocktail with gold leaf in it that she loved. 😋

Lovely video. I was at the Ritz for tea in May and it was wonderful. I’m with you when it comes to clotted cream. Love it! And, like you, I’m a cream first person with the jam on top. That’s the Devonshire way. Cornish is with cream on top. Looks like you had a really nice time.

Yes I lit can be really quite different and obviously run in different ways. Also I find the venue is so important. One of my next afternoon teas uploads highlights how important the venue is for how I find my overall experience. I have a selection of Christmas themed afternoon teas coming up too which are always fun 👌

Yes the waiter was very helpful too. It’s a shame the cover turn over seemed to be more of a focus over a quality experience for customers.

The last time I went to The Ritz was a few years ago but it was quite a different experience for me this time 🤔 The building is beautiful and I love the decor inside.

Please boycott the Ritz: it is owned by the dictatorial family from Qatar. Apart from all the classics (no freedom of speech, no free press, tortures…), LGBT people are persecuted and women are second class citizens. If all that is not enough, migrant workers from poor asian countries (Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India…) work there in near-slavery conditions , specially during the construction of the infrastructures of the recent football cup. I've never had a scone 😢 but when I do I shall treat it like I would our southern biscuits (we put butter on then jam or jelly) so I will put cream on first then jam. I can't wait to have a proper tea. ❤ I'm from Alabama USA. So hello from America 😊

Hi and hope all is well with you in Alabama. Scones are quite popular in the UK and can be savoury or sweet but usually in an afternoon tea you have them with clotted cream and jams or curds. I think you would love them. Thanks for watching! 😍

never had a scone my goodness havnt lived !!! ..... when done correctly its a treat kinda the whole afternoon tea experience its like having a big meal nice with family or a group of friends

Do you have a favourite jam? I love a raspberry or blueberry jam. I'm loving the triple decker vibe but it would have to be mainly clotted cream as I love clotted cream. I thought the Ritz Paris was relaxed and chic. I'd like to go back again and see if the afternoon tea has changed at all. What did you like about the Ritz Paris? 🤗

What has been your overall favorite afternoon tea in London so far? I plan on having afternoon tea soon but I can’t decide where to go to.

Well it depends on what you want from an afternoon tea? What is your focus? Venue? cost? Value for money? etc. When I went to the Ritz I felt like cattle with regards to one in, one out covers and not a relaxed and celebrated experience. However I went 10 years ago and it was lovely. I do hope they decide to focus on quality of experience and instead of volume of covers in competition with other venues.

Hi, yes it was another guest who was celebrating their birthday. You can arrange with the Ritz in advance if you want to book a special occasion cake (other luxury London hotels also provide this option). It involves them bringing out a cake and often the pianist playing some music in celebration too. When I was there it happened 3 times so it's quite popular for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries etc. Thanks for watching! 🤗

I ummed and arred whether to say it, but here goes:- you dropping the cake was something I would like to see in person at any and all afternoon teas in the future. It should be enshrined in law as a social requirement for a cake dropping at each sitting.

Yes that was a little awkward and also sunny side down right on the table cloth. I've dropped a few cakes along the way on my afternoon tea playlist. My friend found my oops moment at the afternoon tea at The Lanesborough quite amusing 😂
