Built on the private island of Maafushi in the Maldives and has a pool with a swim-up bar and three restaurants.
Location’s key when it comes to this place. It’s got lots of sugar-cube-shaped suites, all of which are all on stilts over the shallow lagoon. The powdery beach is literally right on your doorstep. Pure Bliss!

I stayed here just before the lockdown. The island was really nice. Everything was new, and the weather was great. I highly recommend this island .fortunately for us, we flew with tui, and it was only 1 change of a plane now I believe it's more ? Nice friendly resort 👌 👍

Nice! Going there within 3 weeks time. I want to bring the drone as well, did you requested it? Or just brought it with you in hand luggage? Or in suitcase? thanks!

No issues, hand luggage was fine, hotel staff had no issues with me flying it. Have a great time. Beautiful place

Nice video, what time of year did you go and was there enough wildlife in the water (sharks, rays and turtles)??

January time so probably not the optimum time for wildlife but saw rays sharks etc everyday. If you swim to the reefs on the southside of the island there are some amazing corals and fish too!

Great video. Wanted to ask if you can you take excursions from the island? Cant seem to find much information. Is there enough on the island to keep you entertained for 10 nights? Would love to hear as I have just booked.

My main concern when we booked. Turned out to be more than enough to keep you entertained. I am not one to lay on a sunbed all day, I like to explore, keep active etc, I was spoiled for things to do, even just around the pool in the day. The night time has some great entertainment too, well worth a visit, enjoy. 👍

100% worth it! Main flight around 11 hours, then a 30 min internal flight from malè island to the atoll, then a short boat ride to the hotel island. Even the journey is incredible though.

Hi Can you help me with a drone question Do you need special permission to take a drone to rui atoll. I want to take mine but am unsure if u can fly due to sea planes etc .

What’s the difference between Riu Atoll and Riu Palace? Is the same hotel?

The riu Palace is the sister hotel basically the same island, same everything except premium rooms, although having seen both, the "palace" rooms were over deep and choppy sea, we were so glad we chose the atol swim up rooms as we stepped out into shallow waters and was bliss.

@@georgianarotaru8119 yes 110%. Really good hotel, food, entertainment, location, things to do etc etc. Would go back for sure
