It's incredible how much narrative value there is in a game which is basically "meteor, run". The atmosphere is kind of lighthearted in the beginning, like "ooh, trouble", and all very reminiscent of Atari 5200 or something. In the later stages the effects and the music get richer and push the 8-bit barrier. The music and the envirovment at this point is telling you "dude, it's over, why even bother running anymore", and gives you a feeling of perseverence. This little raptor will never give up.

@@Sigmafang no they're not. Google it up. Dino Run 2 is in active development, and has been since 2019. It's gonna take a while though. They post regular updates on it in their discord

I remember playing this on my dads laptop when I was like 8 and have been trying to remember exactly what the name of the game was recently but hadn’t been able to remember. Thanks for helping me find this game so I can go play it again sometime and for bringing back a wave of nostalgia!

Oh my gosh that first image of the miniclips homepage unlocked memories I didn't know I had. Edit: I loved making up my own stories for the little yellow dino you play as in dino run. It's such a simple game but it really stimulated my imagination. I still remember some of the dumb little stories I told myself.

The music played such a huge role in the Dinorun experience. It deals well with how we tend to think about death (as well as concepts that our brains process in a similar way emotionally) based on how close/real it seems. The early stages resumble adolescent recklessness and thrill. Towards the middle and the beginning of the end, it gets more desperate, with the last ones being more despairing. Very poetic.

I remember that game so I downloaded the dx version when my cousins when home one of my older cousins DJ remembered and flash game masterpiece and played it until the final mode Halloween hell run and then he began crying of nostalgia.

I used to spend so many wonderful summer afternoons turned into summer nights playing this holy game for hours on end. My little sister would sit in the chair next to me and watch me play and we would both start freaking out together each time the Wave of Doom would get close to my dino! Oh, my sweet childhood.... I reference Dino Run AT LEAST once a week nowadays, I wish I could buy the soundtrack on iTunes or something!

i always remember thatin my childhood, i didnt find as much as i wanted this game in internet. i never remembered the game's name, so everytime i remember this game i had to find it everywhere, and sometimes i was lucky to find it and sometimes no. everything you say in this video is really well remembered by me. for example the avalanche, it was really scare when i was a kid

Ahhh, flash games. I remember going onto Google sites links that had unblocked flash games. Learn to Fly, Kill a Ragdoll, Duck life, and Dino Run were my favorites as a kid, but Dino Run was the only one that stuck with me. In fact I just downloaded DX off of steam and it's a blast

Adobe Flash actually is a millennial thing too since last year of Gen Y was 1996 the last year and the birth of Adobe Flash, no joke so it's a huge step for Gen Z though it was created in Gen Y from the very last year of Gen Y.
