My latest session on the river and a great summer's day out. It's always a bit exciting to fish there by the tow path and with so many snags to look out for but it's great fun and I got a couple of very nice specimen on the bank. Very happy with my new rig too!

Hi Matt love your videos , my wife and I visit the Mayenne every year on the Campsite in Mayenne what do you think to this part of the River for carp , could you recommend any other areas to try for day sessions , and could I ask Matt is there cats , Barbel and chub in the Mayenne , thanks in anticipation , keep the great vids coming best wishes Pete

Hi Pete, thanks for commenting. The river Mayenne is massive mate! I'm only beginning to get to grips with one small area of it and I've been fishing it for 8 years! I'm afraid I've not ventured near the sector you mention but the carp are well distributed throughout the river so you're never too far away from them. 99% of my sessions have been day sessions. It's pretty simple really, pre-bait an area you fancy with a couple of kg of big boilies, wait at least 24 hrs then try and catch one! Dusk has always been kind to me so don't give up till the sun has set. There are massive catfish in the Mayenne. My river cat PB is only 35lbs but there are 2m+ monsters out there! Never seen a barbel but there are plenty of chub. I did a night at the end of March and caught 4 of the buggers! Glad you like the vids. Fish strong, pre-bait and have faith, there are plenty of carp in there! Be lucky, Matt.

Hi Matt hope your keeping well finally back to France in September after 3 years will fish the Mayenne again did you ever venture around Saint Jean Sur Mayenne was thinking of doing a couple of nights there , regards Pete
