River was really soft compared to Ice in this battle. He pulled the Artist card everytime Ice tried to intimidate him. Obviously River was better but I don't like this type of b.tching

Yea lmao River is showing signs of disrespect in nearly every battle by not looking at them, but when he's touched suddenly he demands respect lol. Sort of baiting for a controversy and then playing victim.

“Blow it out of proportion” is such a weird way to look at it, Abo Ice was repeatedly disrespectful and River just let him know. Trying to mess with your opponent physically shows a lack of confidence in your beatbox skills and distract from the battle.

@@YnEoS10 This is the whole debate though, is it really disrespect or is it just battle attitude? Ice didn't hit him or grab him and yet River still made it a big deal (his response to the matter, not during the battle). Also, I think saying Ice lacks confidence in his skills because he tapped River on the shoulder a few times is a bit of an exaggeration. Plus, I'd just like to bring up that beatboxers have made physical contact with one another on stage for years (including River, who touched B-Art during GBB21) and no one was punished. Even in what I would consider to be the most extreme case of touching (Colaps vs Zekka), no one was punished, Zekka apologized and Colaps was understanding. Basically the same situation here, but less extreme; Ice touched River and afterwards Ice apologized, but unlike Colaps, River's response comes off as rude and stuck up. Again, just my opinion

Why does that make river stuck up? You literally said he shouldn't have carried on. People have different boundaries around touching, especially in this context, and communicating those doesn't make you "stuck up", the fact that there was communication showing that river didn't want to be touched but ice carried on is my issue with it, not the touching in the first place necessarily. You reading rivers response as stuck up and rude is just wild to me tbh, like I don't get how you're seeing that at all

@@gojiberrii1261any physical contact is a bad idea because it opens the door for messing with your opponent with something outside of beatbox skills. Also you don't know if they have any injuries or other issues like when D-low messed with B-Art's hat right after he had surgery on his head, it turned out fine but it freaked him out and its an example of why even what seems okay might cause issues and mess with the match. Of course lots of beatboxers are close friends and so sometimes physical contact happens and its not a big deal to anyone. Its still a bad idea because of reasons like what happened with D-low and B-Art, but its even worse when 1) you don't know your opponent that well to know if they're okay with that and 2) you keep doing it after they make it clear its over the line. Basically if you touch your opponent its up to them if its okay or not, so you have to be confident that you're good friends enough for it to be okay and immediately stop if they indicate it isn't. Abo Ice wasn't good friends with River at the time and River was making it clear he wasn't okay with the contact. When Colaps laughed it off Zekka kept messing with him until he made it clear he wasn't okay. Abo Ice kept being disrespectful despite River making it clear it was over the line. Its bizarre for people to act like River should be okay with sometime he doesn't know well touching him during a beatbox competition and blaming him when Abo Ice was the one being repeatedly disrespectful and distracting everyone from the beatboxing.

Like how else is he supposed to get rivers attention at that moment. You want him to turn his back to crowd and step in front of river? Like make it makes since why you guys are crying this was rivers year to win gbb he was gonna win this gbb no matter what all of his boys are the judges and river has been in the scene for to long not to win this ggb they would never let someone that’s been in the scene 1-2 years win gbb when rivers been in the scene for 15 years plus.

Last year was colaps turn to win. This year it was river. Next year most likely Napom…..

​@@yjstn4736I agree with the fact that River was victimizing himself a bit here, but this whole "turn to win" is just pure speculation. GBB21 had a lot of legends like Alem and Alexinho coming back and they both lost to people less influential than them (inertia and footboxg). If they were giving wins away based on being friends with judges then either alem or alexinho would've won that year, but they didn't and they never have in the past. By the way Napom has already won GBB back in 2017 so if they were giving wins based on turn it wouldn't make sense for him to win again.

Yeah the way River was victimizing himself made it look way worse. What Zekka did to colaps was worse and he didnt receive these biased criticism as Ice did because colaps handled it in a proper manner

The stage is more than 20ft. They are both standing in the middle of the stage. What do you mean give him space to perform? He even walks off to the side multiple times. Wtf?

@@CliffBeatsOfficial standing in middle of the stage also gives an advantage you get more exposure if you stand in the middle there are each sides for each opponent for a reason… i can see abo ice touching river is against the rules but river just playing the artist card here he obviously cant take it if the opponent ever slightly comes close to him he always be like no touchy ✋the way Abo ice touched river was nothing bad and it has happened in the other battles king inertia vs alem is an example alem touched inertia way more than ice touched river but there was no one notice because king inertia took it like it’s nothing, not saying what abo ice did was right but it did bring on battle energy no one would watch 2 dudes singing and beatboxing just standing still i think river was being too soft.. River’s reaction is what made the touches more memorable and problematic to look at. There has been plenty of other GBBs battle with far more touching but they has gone unheard off

@@Senpai_something yes between friends. I don’t think they know/ knew each other. Seemed like Abo came out being a bit rude to River. So are there rules to how you’re supposed to stand? Because you’re saying it’s ok to touch an opponent for the way they stand? And the other references I didn’t agree with either. Even in rap battle touching is a big “no no”. You’d rather someone risk an event with a fight? If something like that happened that would probably be the end for GBB. Touch someone once, fine. But I watched this battle about 4 times now and Abo touched him 3 times and stepped on his shoe to get his attention. So you touch someone 4 times for just listening to your round? Not much logic there. I’d rather see GBB stick around for a while and all the competitors compete.

@@CliffBeatsOfficial cant recall saying that it’s okay to touch.. and as far as i know can’t confirm friends but they are cool with each others if you watch bts they are talking and laughing together that seem to me like friendship or a good relationship atleast.. they way i see it is abo ice didn’t touch river to get more exposure or make river nervous or distract him so he makes mistakes the touch was simply to hype the crowd and create tension that public would love but the way river reacted is what it made it look worse than it already was.. and yes river was standing in the middle of stage and i dont like that if you are done with ur round just stand at your site and let the opponent perform give him space let him move around and play with the crowd if u see codfish battles after he end his round he goes back to his site.. i think it shows a sign of respect standing in the middle is just a bit egoistic and one more thing that river did that was disrespectful is when ice finished his first round he clearly forgot to give river the mic and when he realize while walking he stopped and lean over to give him the mic but river again played cocky and didn’t lean an inch to get the mic from him and just stood there before scott jhonson passed the mic to him..

They both were in the middle of the stage. It’s a pretty big stage. I didn’t comment on past battles, I’m talking about this one. Touching repetitively and trying to interrupt Rivers routine was a bit too much for me. 1 or 2 times ok I get it but the entire time? Nah, too much.

@CliffBeatsOfficial I agree but if you watch other battles, battlers tend to give their opponent room to breathe and work the stage. River didn't do that here and basically acted as an obstruction. I still think Ice should've been DQ'd for the touching but River's battle etiquette wasn't fantastic either.

Abo repeatedly kept touching him and went chest to chest to him and looked like he was stepping in front of him/ putting his shoe on his during his routine.
