Hey Spencer just wantes tk thank you for all you videos you make and inadvertantly sharing information along the way lol, ive been fishing since age 4, 37 years later still lovin it, getting to the point just wanted to let you know after watching you for years it gave me the courage to share my knowledge and skill if thats what we eant to call it lol, i started my guide service last summer its been a blast so far takes some getting used to company fishing with me though I'm used to fishing long hours alone sometimes days lol. Thank you for the inspiration !!!

Buffalo are one of my favorite fish to catch. The small hooks are always the sketchy link in the chain. A 40lb fish on a #6 is a lot of fun though.

Crappie came in last? Inconceivable!! They had soiled pallettes. Three fish requires a triple blind taste test, or you risk pallette soiling due to cross contamination. I demand a retasting in a triple blind format! Lol Sorry, I got carried away.

The only problem with this sort of blind taste test, is crappie, walleye, and catfish meat are all very distinctive from one another. If you have caught and cooked these any moderate amount of time, it's fairly easy to tell. Also, the amount on each plate, thickness of fillet, and how it cooked are other giveaways.

Crappie are fun to catch. I'd say they are my favorite, but I don't catch walleye. Never discount a bluegill caught out of cold water, either. Would not be surprised if channel was the most eaten fish, they are good. I'd say my number one would be a tossup between crappie and cold water bluegill, followed by walleye/flathead, followed by channel/blue, with bass, yellow perch and bullhead after that. Everything else is ok, but I've never had a smallmouth, pike, or muskie either. Nice double, btw.

I think Crappies taste better scaled, breaded and fried whole with skin on. My Grandpa was a Crappy catcher and that's the way we ate them.

Buffalo are actually really tasty fish. The ribs are fantastic. The back strap requires some scoring through the bones and near the tail its boneless. One of my favorite fish to catch and eat.

Hello Spencer and company. I agree with the taste test being fun. I lived in northeastern Florida, Amelia Island and had the opportunity to go fishing a lot. The variety was amazing and the amount of fish I was able to catch and eat was fantabulous. The big boat captain Chris Holland the Misti Lynn is an awesome guide. I fished with him for two years and he can anchor and hit the target of a chest freezer size. If you ever get the chance tell him I said hello. I was a regular charter with captain Jim Fussel. Thanks for sharing. I enjoy watching your channel 👍🙌💪

Walleye is my all time favorite, followed by crappie/bluegill/pumkinseed, then perch. we have channels here but I rarely eat them because of where I catch them. There is some clean lakes that have them so on your recommendation maybe I'll try some again. As a side note, I got curious and tried a rock bass thinking maybe as good as other panfish, they're not. I don't recommend them. All I know is I have a wicked jones for fish after every video.

Between fresh crappie and fresh walleye and sauger I choose walleye and sauger. Now, both fish frozen I take crappie. For some reason walleye and sauger dont freeze as well as crappie. Dont get me wrong they are both good after freezing but in my opinion walleye and sauger meat is so delicate it gets a little soft after thawing out. Side by side freash out of the water....walleye and sauger no doubt. All the fish I harvest for eating and freezing are always in tbe winter months so I never bleed. Walleye, sauger and crappie are such a mild fish I dont think bleeding them makes that much different if caught out of cold water. Summer months or duri g the spawn.....bleeding them out will make a huge difference.

Walleyes are my # 1 tasting fish especially if caught out of upland reservoirs. Yellow perch and bluegills are about the same and are firm flakey white meat and taste MOOWEE BWAYNOO 😂😂😂

Love the taste tests. I often wonder how much of the reputation is based on ease of preparation: meaning if a person is skilled at getting the best out of each species (eg, bleeding out, getting promptly on ice, cutting out red meat, etc) how would that change the ranking. My hunch is Spencer is top notch in all the steps prior to the grease.

Take that whitebass, take his Backstrom and chunk it up. Then boil some 7up and drop the chunks in for a couple of mins. Eat it with shrimp sauce or melted butter. WB are my favorite fish that way because it doesn't flake apart

Spencer you should check out the Eurotackle B Vibe finesse swimbaits. Extreme Philly Fishing youtuber put me on them and i have slayed Crappie on them ever since. Hope you dont mind me shouting them out. If you are ever looking for a good mess to eat i know these baits are fire against Crappie and Sauger

Crappie is mushy. People think I'm crazy for saying it's overhyped lol. I'd eat white bass over crappie any day or pretty much any fish over crappie

I'm with ya on that comment. No matter how I've cleaned them or cooked them, they always seem to be mushy. Their not bad , they just don't have that flakey white meat like Yellow perch or Walleyes. In my opinion, Walleyes & perch, bluegill have the cleanest flakey meat.

Walleye are the King and then I would have crappie over channel cat. It is close between the crappie and channel cat. Fish caught in cold water is the best.
