I grew up watching SHINee and I want to say you guys always have one of the most genuine reactions love you guys!!!! Also Monroe I completely understand you when Jonghyun passed I couldn’t watch any videos of SHINee for months without crying LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Also you guys should react to some old school kpop, like 1st gen (if you haven’t already) my dad loved Seo taiji, a girl group from the 90’s would be Baby VOX, to maybe see how different it was!

1 of 1 is the type of song that grows on you even when you don't feel it at first. It's one of those understated songs you find yourself unconsciously humming at some point and then when you hear it play again later you suddenly start jamming to it.

I was fine throughout the whole video until 4:08 Jonghyun popped up again and at that point the song was ending and I just didn’t want to see him go so I got really emotional. I miss him so much. I really hope you guys get to experience some his solo work bc everything he put out is just absolutely amazing. He’s honestly just an amazing person and a talented musician I hope you react to more SHINee as well as solos I love you guys and I love watching you react. Jonghyun's presence isn't as strong in this song as it is in some of the others, but I'm glad you all were still able to pick up on it and respond to that. 💛

I love this song and SHINee so much! Monroe, it’s ok to feel sad about Jonghyun. We’ve all been there. When I find myself on the verge like that (which happens far too often), I try and remember how beautiful a person and artist he was and that he loved his fans and would want us to be happy. It would be amazing if you could react to some his solo music! He had such a beautiful voice and you could hear his passion for music in his songs. My faves don’t have mvs, but Elevator, Let Me Out, Moon, and Diphylleia Grayi (my personal fave) are all freaking awesome. Love you!!

1 of 1 was a retro concept and SHINee went all out with it. They released limited edition cassette tapes for this album, along with their usual CD albums. I understand why Dizz and Khadija would think the quality of the video wasn't great, and it's simply because they took inspiration from retro music videos with the white backgrounds. At the time, even some shawols didn't quite like the direction they went with the MV. But it was all a part of the concept. SHINee is arguably the most unique group in kpop. Shoutout to Zak who mentioned that they consistently deliver, no matter the concept or music. I would like to see you guys react to "Tell Me What To Do" that was released as a repackage that same year. It's such a great song, very different from 1 of 1 and I think anyone would appreciate their stellar vocals and harmonies.

I had the same reaction as Monroe. This was the song/album that finally got me to dig a little deeper into Shinee's music. I couldn't have imagined it would be the last album with all 5 members. This one hits home for me.

Here's some fun facts about this MV for you. "1 of 1" is the title track on SHINee's 5th full length Korean album. SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008 (5/25) so in this MV there were 25 girls. So 5 members + 25 girls = 5/25. All the girls in this MV are models, so if you notice they don't really dance, and most of the girls are taller than the SHINee members LOL -- but that's OK because it fits the theme of the MV well. In the '90s often the girls that were featured in the MVs were well known models and actresses, not backup dancers. It was supposed to have that slightly awkward, unpolished look and feel to it because it was part of the retro aesthetic. The quality of the video was on point with exactly how MVs were made in the '90s. Everything in this MV was done very delibratly to make it look and feel like it came straight out of the '90s. I can't remember which it was, but either the time stamp on the MV or the time stamp on the song is exactly 5:25 also. This MV and album is meant to have a very retro '90s vibe and that's why the song, dance and ascetics of the MV and album have a very '90s look. As someone who was a teen in the '90s, this is so perfect. Everything from the look of the set with an all white background to the clothes everyone wore, to their dance moves, to the video editing and the sound of the song, it was all '90s. Did you know that they even released some of their albums on cassette tape as a part of a limited collectors edition to further celebrate the '90s theme? It's amazing how every song SHINee releases is very unique and unlike any other and yet every time, no matter what, it always has that very SHINee feel. Appreciate Minho with blond hair while you can. :D There has only been about 2 or 3 times in the past 10 years that Minho has ever dyed his hair any other color besides auburn or brown and when he has, it doesn't stay that color for more than a few weeks. Minho is a lead actor in a lot of K-dramas and movies so one of the reasons why I don't think he dyes his hair as often as other idols do, is because of his acting roles. The majority of roles that Mino plays are the boy next door-type characters or historical dramas, etc. so he needs to look as average as he can (Or as average as a guy who was born with model good looks can look anyway. LOL) Also Onew sprained his ankle in concert right before they started promoting for this album and he was unable to dance, so that's why you see him sitting down the whole time in this MV and why there are only 4 of them in the dance breaks in this MV. It was several weeks into promotions for this song before Onew was able to participate in the choreography for this song. If you want to see all 5 of them dancing you will have to check out one of their live comeback stage performances.

thank you for reacting to shinee~ i've always loved your genuine thoughts + reactions :) I would suggest watching some of their older releases, esp their live versions bc their live performances are everything. Some songs I would like to recommend are Symptoms, Odd Eye, Please Don't Go (Jonghyun x Onew duet is EVERYTHING), Juliette, Sherlock, etc. They are just so unique and every release is exciting and fresh and that's what I love about our 5 shining boys~ Also, if you have time, check out Minho or Onew's solo MVs if you haven't already ^^

Monroe I was in the same boat. I literally would break down balling during one of their songs while it played. When ‘Our Page’ was released (it’s a tribute song to him, bless his soul ❤️), I really felt like my heart had been ripped out. That song was the hardest to listen to along with another song called ‘Tell Me What To Do’ (Jonghyun’s voice is very prominent in the song). But, it gets easier. The point of the music video and how it was shown with the simple white background, the simple slides of showing each member when it was their turn to sing was a sign for a throwback too, back then it was only simple edits you can do to a video to make it “fancy” and I think that was the concept shinee was trying to showcase alongside their song and wardrobe choice☺️

Shinee is amazing, you should react to Everybody and View the real track of the album, this was a gift for the fans, Onew had an accident and couldn't dance so they had to change it at the end... I love them, on another note, people say it is sad, for a while it was, but the more I thought about it the more I came to the conclusion that seeing him is hard, not seeing him was harder, so I have his music, his memories and all the greatness that he was, I can continue seeing him and remembering him for the rest of my life. We are all here just passing by, so what lives on is the memories we left behind...
