My understanding of the story is that all four girls are going through a break up and are coping with it differently. At the end when the music starts up again. You can see them more better and dancing and just being more upbeat. Hence why the lyric " get better day by day" is said many times.

Some of the most romantic films of all time came out of Hong Kong during that period. So a lot of the settings in Wind Flower are a reminder of those films. The Mcdonalds they shot at was actually quite a famous setting from the film Fallen Angels. Plus the shot of Moonbyul and Solar in the car is almost a shot for shot of a scene from the movie 2046.
