Three new buildings will soon rise at the northeastern portion of Rizal Park.
The relief map of the Philippines and the Children's Playground both located at the northeastern portion of Rizal Park had been demolished recently to give way for the construction of the proposed National Herbarium, Quincentennial, National Planetarium and Quincentennial Exhibition Building.
In Section 6 of Republic Act 11333 or National Museum Act, the eastern section of the Rizal Park is now appropriated to the National Museum of the Philippines to form what it calls the National Museum Complex.

I’m glad that the burnham plan in rizal park will come back again and of course I am willing that the walled city of manila should fully or almost be restored to its pre war era. And people in the slums won’t be poor again but better and I hope it will happened.

Well, nandiyan na yan...let's just hope na talagang masunod at maging maganda yung Burnham Plan diyan. Memories na lang sa mga batang 70s yung mga demolished na Globe/skating rink, children's playground and now the relief map of the Philippines.

Anong klaseng park yan kung puro buildings? May nakikita ba kayong mga buildings sa Central Park sa New York? Yan na nga lang yung nag-iisang park na medyo malaki, tapos tatadtarin nyo pa ng buildings? Puro buildings na nga ang Metro Manila. Ang kailangan natin ay isang malawak na park. Hay, iba talaga mag-isip ang Pinoy.

It may be the original plan but it is the remaining large open space in Manila. We really need open spaces to relax which is more healthy than spending time inside malls.

@@arielvergeldedios7068 hindi lang Luneta ang dapat na open space sa Manila!, dapat every barangay sa Manila may mga kanya-kanyang open spaces!, ganun ang tamanag urban planning!, yung mga plaza kesa gawin open space kino-convert nila as covered court or gym!, wag lahat iasa sa Luneta!, aabot ba sa bahay nyo yung benefits ng open space sa Luneta?, yung area ng Grand Stand open din diba?, atsaka useless lang yan open spaces na yan kung wala o kulang din naman sa mga puno tulad ng dating itsura ng Luneta!

@@joaoantonio1279 yun nga. Wala na ngang open space lalagyan pa ng building yung natitira. Besides the original na Burnham plan was to retain ss open spaces the present BSP bldg, Manila zoo the Harrison plaza and Century park hotel. Also the central market DOH area and the JRRMH also as playground. They are mow all ovvupied by bldgs except for the zoo.

@arielvergeldedios7068 If only burnham's plan came to fruition almost all of those space problems would be resolved. I think that they should've gone for new parks and roads that were originally in the burnham plan then slowly advancing towards rival park. We truly lack good architecture and green spaces in this country especially high urbanized areas.

yan ang original plan ng Luneta na hindi natuloy!, yun sinasabe mong greenery dapat buong sulok ng Manila at hindi Luneta lang!, dapat yung sabihan mo yung mga LGU ng bawat barangay sa Manila kesa puro covered court ang ipatayo nila gawin nilang open plaza at greenery yung space nila!, dahil bawat sulok ng city dapat may breathing space at hindi Luneta lang!

Actually, I saw 1 foreign vlogger, but let's not talk about that... I think because it's lackluster, bland, nothing to see much there yet (cultural/structural or garden architecture that really represent Philippine uniquely)? A empty flat vast of grassland, underdeveloped, not so green, full of cement/concrete, full of cars' pollution and noise, with neighboring tall mediocre buildings instead of green mountains. Still lack of greenery and bigger trees (shading from heat) for a tropical; not thin trees for a park? Hope for the future will change. Compare that beauty to few names (KZfaq search it): Kenroku-en (Kanazawa) Koraku-en (Okayama) Singapore Botanic Gardens Even Ayala Terraces More? (make it a higher standard): the most beautiful green parks (or village) in the world... value higher architectural design = expect more tourist attraction Arrangements to all things count: color theory, tilted brick texture, night lighting; small details design make big change of their own aesthetic. Not good for a park: +Noise pollution +Car hazards near the park? No bias, just pure observation... edit: also ease to travel in and out to reach there? Traffic hassle? Improve transport especially the mass transit!
