Radio Mirchi's RJ Sayema translates and explains Faiz Ahmed Faiz's poem Hum Dekhenge in this video. The poem, 'Hum dekhenge', which has grown into a protest staple with a tune of its own, was sung at a December 17 march organised in solidarity with the students of Jamia Millia Islamia, upon whom police had unleashed violence on December 15. The poem was also recited at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur which later snowballed into a controversy big enough for the institution to form a panel to decide whether the spirit of the poem is ‘anti-Hindu’.

And in later part, she told about Anall Haq ( God resides inside me ), Ek Khuda( God is One ), God's Children's will Rule, etc which is also common in Hindusim as well. Bro yes it's true that our way of worship is different, so core values remains the same Humanity, Love, Forgiveness, Compassion, Trust, Hope, etc. Consider U have 10 Children's and every Child has Adopted a different Religious believe ( Muslim, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Christian,etc ) but their Love for u remind same and Ur Love for them remains INTACT since they are ur Children's. This poem was written as against the Nau-Colonialism all around the World, Being comrade Faiz Sb. Slammed all the tyrants of humanity, all the occupational thoughts on earth. The people who know Faiz Sb. are well aware of this fact and Faiz Sb. himself presented this poem at many forums with a deliberation of larger scale expression. This such poem is still popular in Palestine as it considered there as a song of liberty. This is true that this was written during mentioned regime but it is marginally associated with it and largely with universal oppression of the common people, the wreched of the earth. Please do not limit this master piece to the regime of Zia ul Haq. Thank You Very Much.

Faiz Ahmed Faiz was a Pakistani who believed in Communist (Marxist) ideology. He was arrested for participating in an attempted coup against the first democratically elected government in Pakistan in 1951. The poem talks about people's rule. What can be a better example of that than a people's elected government? This is hypocrisy. The song has beautiful melody. It's very catchy. But pay attention to the lyrics too. It was used in JNU by the tukde gang. Support and glorify it only if it is used in the right context.

The poem simply means oppression (Tyranny/ Dictatorship/ Authoritarianism) will one day end and rule-by-the-masses (Democracy/ Republic) will prevail. The present debate doesn't hold water for two reasons: 1. Faiz was a Marxist. So don't even think the poem has any religious connotations, on the contrary, it talks against it allegorically as this poem was sort of a protest poem against Zia ul Haq, arguably a stuanch fundamentalist. 2. The references to God, people of God, House of God, Idols, etc are allegorical simply to put forward the ultimate truth as discussed earlier.

Rambhai Yadav republic is rule of law. democracy is mob rule. eg riot is a democratic. who wants that? republic means rule of law. eg. in usa one person cannot do everything no matter who is he. everybody has their own responsibilities and power. eg. a local sheriff can override president when it comes to his constituency. in republic the question is always what the law says. in democracy it is always janta or pradhan mantri or chief minister etc. nobody talks about law. btw, indian doesn’t even have laws, it’s acts.! acts means indian is reporting to some other country or power. mind that jallianwala bath massacre was done by order following sheep’s. general dyer only gave order. any one of soldiers could have turned his gun on him instead of killing hundreds of innocents but sheep’s are worst when it comes to morals. we have lot more sheep’s now. even leaders are sheep now a days.

In any republic, the government is formed by a majority and the losers abide by the laws formulated by the government. They may protest, but only peacefully, without causing damage or inconvenience to other members of the society. Or Allah ki jagha Jo log Yeh sab bolne ko kehte hain unhe hum apna deshprem show nhi karwana chaahate. Or aapko ek cheez or bata dun Islam me apne desh se gaddari karna ek azeem gunaah hai.

फैजकी ए गझल मैने पढी थी। गझलका meaning थोडाबहु त समझा था। लेकिन आपने गझलका meaning पुरी तरहसे समझाया। कितना बेहतरीन तरहसे आपने गझलका विवरण किया है Hats off to you.
