I know people often credit VIXX for their darker concepts but their bright concepts are just as good. GR8U as the parallel for hyde, Dynamite for The closer/Fantasy, and their earlier concepts(Super hero and Rock ur body) are amazing actually. please watch their stages,especially the gayo daejun version because they do remixes and special stages. First of all once again thank you for diving into VIXX! Your guess about Ravi is close, in Beautiful Liar he represents the Ugly Truth while Leo is the Beautiful Lie. In other words, Ravi is saying everything Leo actually wishes to say to his lover, but Leo is holding his true feelings back and lying to his lover so they would leave him with no regrets, even though it's painful for him to part with them. This is why they "fight" each other while the partner leaves them, Leo is holding Ravi back from trying to stop her. Meanwhile in Whisper, Leo and Ravi are portraying soulmates finding each other and completing each other! At the time anything queer was basically kind of taboo, so I personally think they added "girl" to the lyrics to avoid any censorship haha but the MV left a very distinct impression 😂 Ravi is basically someone who has expressed that he sees love with no gender boundaries, while not openly disclosing his sexuality. Leo may also not be entirely heterosexual 😅

The Beautiful Liar music video will forever be one of my favorite all-time videos because it’s just so beautifully done. Ravi displays the real truth so great because the truth is never pretty. The truth is always kind of messed up maybe a little rough and Leo does such a good job at portraying a beautiful lie like it’s all neatly put together, nothing out of place just the perfect lie, and they both illustrate the internal struggle of the truth fighting with the lie snd the the lie killing the truth so well that it just always leaves me in awe

VIXX LR's "Beautiful Liar" is all about the internal struggle of coming to terms with when it is time to end a relationship. So, how I interpret the story in the MV is, that Leo and Ravi represent the two halves of the same person. The MV is all about an internal struggle that the guy is having about whether to hold on to the girl or do what he ultimately knows is best for both of them, and let her go. One side knows that he needs to let her go and end the relationship, and the other side of him wants to hold on for dear life to keep her. Leo is the "beautiful liar" who has created this lie for himself in order to do the right thing and let her go. And Ravi represents the guy's real internal emotions. All Ravi wants to do is hold on to her. You see the girl give Leo a wedding invitation and she tries to return his keys because she is ending the relationship and is in love with someone else. Leo is trying to be a bigger person and just let her go. But, as you see, Ravi, who is the true emotions, is angry and he is refusing to give up -- he doesn't want to accept the keys and when she walks away he tries to run after her. But the beautiful lie, which switches to beautiful pain, wins out and Leo's side ends up winning the struggle. As Ravi walks away in the end, Leo is left to live his beautiful lie and ignore his true emotions, etc. With VIXX LR, most of the time you see them depicting 2 sides of the same person. They aren't in love with each other.

If you've been a Kpop fan for a long time you might recognize the melody from VIXX's "Love Equation" because it's a remake of a hit song by the Korean group R.ef called “Farewell Formula” from 1995. “Love Equation” retains the main melody from the original song, but has been updated to fit the trends of 2015 and adds in VIXX’s unique style. Although I didn't know the original song, when VIXX first released "Love Equation" I thought it sounded familiar because the original song has often been used on variety shows and as background music for different things, etc., so I had heard it many times before without even realizing it.

I can't wait to see you listen to On & On - it was the song that made me check out Vixx after my ult A.C.E did an iconic cover of it. You should check it out after you watch the mv! They had 3 days to do it & absolutely *slayed* both the concept and the choreo. I had to check out Vixx after that.

We only saw fan pictures and videos about that day after the Milky Way MV was released. Starlights are definitely one of the most respectful fandoms ever. VIXX has a lot of close interactions with fans, taking pictures, playing around, and sitting with fans in meetings. They even go to the crowd in their concerts and sit beside the fans. It is really cute too) Only U ( also a cute slow song) And also there is parallel mv ( or there isnt ? Who knows😆😆) you can watch it but you shouldnt. Because they deleted the mv right after releasing it and still refuse that there was an mv exist at all. But it still somewhere on the internet tho. Anyways, if you like Ravi's rap you can actually react his solo work too. He has two company under his name so you can be sure there is plenty of solo work he did. Yeah, Love Equation is definitely a bop, and *one* of the cutest MVs ever from them, but wait. Oh, honey, just wait. When you watch GR8U, it gets *ridiculous*. (And they had to learn how to lipsync that one backward for the MV.) There's also On & On, which is another darker concept, and "Only You" which is just a whole-ass moooooooood. TRY not saying, "okay, Daddy" when Leo comes at you while he's loosening his tie. Another fun one before you hit the dance practices is their cover of Wonder Girls' "So Hot". As for the LR videos - definitely coded. Yes, what you saw was a track list in that book of the mini-album. And the two stick figures in lights that look almost like a constellation? That was their nod to their Starlights, and those figures were on that year's fan club merch.

Funny how you said Love Equation was the cutest VIXX but the song is about breaking up orz. It's actually a remake, as mentioned by the other comments but VIXX added their own flavor to it. The song is originally titled (in English) as "Formula for Breakup" and that is actually still the Korean title. Just that the official English title is ironic. The song lyrics is playful despite being bitter about a break up. The chorus goes like this: "Have you ever tried breaking up on such a sunny day? It's even worse than in rainy days because you can't hide the slightest expressions on your face. No typical break up song can express this feeling of losing you. But when I hear them, why do my tears fall?" But the bridge is more comforting rather than sad.

Love Equation was the first and only VIXX song to get a triple crown on music shows and an all-k*ll during the second or third week of promotions! Because it was a remake of a popular 90s song. It’s actually one of my fave songs because I loved seeing them actually have fun on stage instead of being sad/brooding. 😂 however, the lyrics are very sad compared to the sound.

I love you unique ways VIXX LR incorporates the letters "L" and "R"~~~ Like taking the "ia" out of "liar" in Beautiful Liar or the way they use "L" to represent "left" and "R" to represent "right" in Whisper^.^ VIXX LR's chemistry is *chef's kiss* I actually vaguely remember Ravi saying he thought of the concept for Chained Up while doing Beautiful Liar, and he almost suggested it as their concept for LR but decided to do it as the full group~ So, make of that what you will~~~^.^

Here's the thing: What most people don't get about Whisper is that, not only is talking about the Red String of Faith, also working with complete opposites: the blue and red thing opposite colours, the left and right, Ravi having a more harsher voice, while Leo is more melodic and soft, the piano in contrast to the harshness of the rapping, etc.. It's basically saying that, although you are faithed partners, the opposites do work and compliment each other.

Funny thing I noticed about the Love Equation music video in a couple of clips you noticed Leo has a gun and actually points it at Ravi lol it’s like right at the beginning
