Serious question as I've always wondered this about the theme. I really really like it. But I get the hint she really hates men or something? XD Just trying to understand the meaning of this theme. And I've been a fan of the Tenchi series since 1999 or so.

I believe it's more like a futile warning about this femme fatale who's going to practically beat this man down into submission and humiliation. It's kind of funny because it can apply to Ryouko just as much as Aeka, or hell Tenchi's entire harem, but those two are the ones who want him the most (Washuu does as well, though I think more for "science" than anything), and both of them are going to be the death of Tenchi, albeit unintentionally. I'm not far into _Tenchi Universe_ to be entirely sure, but given the _Ryo-Ohki_ OVAs, I'd say it fits the tone of the series well.

Man I remember the 90's anime. They were so iconic and Tenchi Muyo was a series that had alternate universes but they were all good in their merit. I'm gaining in age but everytime I hear this song, it just brings me back to when I was a kid watching this.

I have the weirdest history with this song. I have never watched the anime before in my life, but it’s been with me for years despite that. It was all cause of a Kingdom Hearts AMV type thing that used this song, which my dad found and promptly downloaded. So he’d played it for me a lot as a kid, even though I never knew what it’s name was. Years later, I suddenly remembered this song and wanted to listen to it again, which took a while but I eventually found it. To be honest, with the song being in English and how very 90s it sounds, I never suspected it’d be for an anime. Just assumed it was some lesser known dance music artist, but lo and behold it’s a Japanese singer doing some really impressive English singing. Glad to know it’s still a banger even this many years later.

To be honest Tenchi Universe is my favorite Tenchi series. The first six episodes of the OVA were good but it just went down after that and went nowhere. Besides Universe had Kiyone(not the OVA 3 version) the sole female character that wasn't in love with Tenchi.

I figure Ryoko and Ayeka are in love with him. Sasami sees him as a big brother. Kiyone as a friend who has no romantic interest. I'm not sure where Washu and Mihoshi fit in.

While I agree with Universe being the best Tenchi, I think OVA series 2 was just as good as the first OVA series. Now OVA 3 on the other hand...yeah, it felt pretty lackluster. Have yet to see OVA 4 though, hopefully it'll be better than 3.

@@SumTr011 Don't know of you've seen it yet or not... But it is NOTHING but exposition dumps that drag on for four half hour episodes with gratuitous (even for the Tenchi series) fanservice. It's basically a prequel to War on Geminar that fills in things that were evidently already explained in that series.

Go for it, absolutely worth it. Though I'd start with Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Ryo Ohki, before watching Tenchi Universe. Then again, Tenchi Universe is technically a soft reboot of Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Ryo Ohki.

Yes it is available on a compilation cd that Pioneer released after Tenchi Universe came out. It's called the " Best of P-Anime " on their own music label. You can find it on Amazon.
