No Layout Changes: HR managers shouldn't be able to modify the report structure. Analyzing the Options A. Publish the reports in an app and grant the HR managers access permission. Pros: Easy to manage access. Apps are great for focused content distribution. Cons: Doesn't inherently enforce RLS. RLS rules need to be applied at the dataset level to truly restrict data, regardless of the distribution method. B. Create a new workspace, copy the datasets and reports, and add the HR managers as members of the workspace. Pros: Isolates the HR manager's view. Cons: Increases overhead dramatically. Copying datasets and reports creates redundancy and maintenance challenges. C. Publish the reports to a different workspace other than the one hosting the datasets. Pros: Some level of separation. Cons: RLS can't function across workspaces. Each HR manager would essentially see all regions' data since the RLS rules are tied to the original dataset. D. Add the HR managers as members of the existing workspace that hosts the reports and the datasets. Pros: Leverages the existing RLS setup for smooth filtering. Offers a centralized approach for management. Cons: HR managers would be members, meaning they could potentially make unintended changes if permissions aren't carefully set. The Best Solution Option D is the most efficient and secure way to achieve the goals. Here's why: RLS Enforcement: RLS rules are already configured on the datasets. Adding the HR managers to the same workspace ensures that these rules apply when they access the reports. Permission Control: Within the workspace, assign the HR managers the Viewer role. This allows them to interact with the data but prevents them from modifying the report layout.
