Because they generally are not lethal. Walking can be considered "Lethal" because someone can trip and hit their head. Tazers are not lethal unless there is an unlying condition. And Polygraphs are not usually used.

The polygraph doesn't work! This isn't representative. They are not admissable in court! There is a simple way to beat ANY polygraph.

I’m surprised they use polygraphs. I was a cop for a decade in Arizona and they use them too, and one of my corporals was the examiner. He would always talk about how inaccurate they are.

You can actually beat the polygraph test. Psychopaths are generally not liable to be caught by a polygraph test because they simply don't care that they are lying. By not being All you need to do is not care that you are lying, some people can do it successfully.

@TheSage555 Then saying "YOU" can actually beat a polygraph is incorrect. There may be certain types of people without feeling or emotion, however a joe average person simply cannot turn these off.
