This video was made from our visit to the Royal Navy Submarine Museum at Haslar, near Portsmouth. It features a full walk through the sole remaining A-Class submarine, HMS Alliance which is a great illustration of the type of craft used by the Royal Navy Submarine Service at the end of the Second World War and into the 1960s. I have been fascinated by these craft ever since I read "One of Our Submarines" by Commander Edward Young RNVR who served in a number of submarines during the War and went on to command HMS Storm, an S-Class vessel. I would recommend both a visit to this museum and reading the book I have referred to. It really brings home the enormous courage and sacrifice made by members of the Submarine Service in the Royal Navy.
