This movie is the definition of dumb fun where the whole cast knows it’s dumb fun and they’re all having a blast making it. Eric had such funny reaction faces throughout this hahaha

The fight scenes are super interesting in this, they basically filmed each scene multiple times, with a mix of the actors just normal acting out the scene, and another with them hitting pads with full force - they then digitally spliced them together.

@@2salladsI don’t think so for me. It looks cool and fluid. Fight scene always look a little weird and I feel like bc it looks fluid we’re not used to seeing it so it looks fake on tv but tbh that’s how it looks when people get hit in real life.

@@TwoBeFrank It looks digital, cg and super fake. Takes me out of it. Very ugly film all around. Especially the cuts used during the final fight. It's clear they were under a time limit with certain stuff.

@@2sallads I disagree. But regardless it’s new tech anyways. It’s not going to be perfect right out the gate. I don’t think the movie looks ugly. Some scenes aren’t great but to call it all around ugly is a bit much.

People hated Connor’s character but I thought it was entertaining and kinda reminded me of older action movies that would have famous cameos like rappers or wrestlers that weren’t great actors but were just entertaining to watch

Yeah the cop is the main bad guy in fast 5 (the Brazil one) which is kinda funny since is actually Portuguese in real life. One of the most famous Portuguese actors, Joaquim de Almeida. The main love interest is also Portuguese, Daniela Melchior, she's Ratcatcher 2 in "The Suicide Squad"

A lot of the punches was filmed hitting pads while the guy receiving the punches would be hit with the pads and they blended the two together end

I agree with something feeling off, it felt like there was a lot of motion and movement, it's like the camera moved in the same direction bodies would move, while something with editing. Not a bad movie just trip me out.

The digital doubles used for a lot of the crazy fight choreography definitely took me out of them. The VFX in this were rough enough to subtract a few points each cool moment.

I learned that I need to give a remake a chance before judging because I have been wrong many times before. So glad I did that this time, because I loved this remake!!! It stood out to me as it's own retelling of the story. And this is probably my favorite Jake G performance since Zodiac.

Such a fun movie. I wish there was more of McGregor on it. I know people meme on his acting but he did a very good job delivering the one line where he says " something wrong with you, me too" I can't totally see him transitioning into acting.

The fights in the original Road House were incredible. Terry Funk and Swayze were both huge proponents of believable fights, and the fights looked more legit than almost any film to this day, including this film, which is more than a little supercharged and idealized, though incredibly entertaining.

I've said this before but I grew up watching the OG and expected to hate this one but I was genuinely surprised how fun it was. They knew they were going to get compared to the OG so I'm glad they made some changes

Anyone who watched this expecting a serious exploration of the night club bouncer scene and the inherent dichotomy of fun and alcohol is insane. It’s a fun romp. Just like the original.

The CGI fight scenes were atrocious in my opinion. So unnecessary. I watched the behind the scenes “Making Of” video about how they did it, and while the idea is cool, it needs way more refining before putting it in a movie again. Just get a great fight choreographer. Nothing beats it.

There were no "CGI" fight scenes. It was all high frame rate speed ramping, removed frames, or stitches. Editing tricks to make things feel more impactful.

@@BloodDjimon614It looks awful and yes CGI was used, especially in the opening fight with Post Malone. They filmed 3 or 4 versions of the same fight using different techniques each time. One with actors, one with actors and pads, one with actors doing slow motion movements and connections of the hits, and one with an empty frame. Then they blended them together but CGI was most definitely used and the whole technique looks wonky as hell. You can find the video in the behind the scenes making of the movie. Some if it looks cool and works okay, but some if it looks bad which is why I said they need to refine this new method of making fight scene before using it for another movie.

Well it's not a sequel so it doesn't really matter. They probably didn't watch infernal affairs before they did The Departed and most people haven't seen the original Scarface either. In any case Aaron and Calvin have both seen the original.
