I was a driver for Domino’s Pizza at the time, which was a couple of blocks away on San Fernando Rd (Now Railroad Ave). I drove by the set pretty much every day, watching as they built Red’s Auto Parts and the Double Deuce in that empty field. I remember that one day the exterior signage of the DD was upgraded with neon, as can be seen in the movie. The most memorable moment was when they blew up Red’s. From even a block away, you could really feel the heat of the explosion. When filming wrapped, they completely dismantled the set and once again it was only an empty field there.

I can watch this movie over and over again and still not get tired of it!!!

Patrick Swayze was great in any role he played and such a great human being. He had so much left to give but we lost him far to soon. Real icon.

My favorite line~Sam Elliott: "I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead."

I have watched Road House countless times and never get tired of it. Two of my favorite actors Sam Elliot and Patrick Swayze. It broke my heart when he passed away. He had a wonderful marriage and they were so devoted to each other. The story what Bill Murray pulled was hilarious. I knew Red West was in the movie according to an interview with Elvis' cousin. My late Mom would have loved this. She was a huge Patrick Swayze fan. After she died, my biggest hope was that Patrick greeted her in Heaven and asked her to dance. I love this movie. I haven't watched it for a few years so I am going to have to take care of that situation. After Mom, and my sister, died I really stopped watching movies and TV and things that they liked. Maybe I need to do it again.

Man, this was great to watch! Roadhouse is my all-time favorite movie. It's what got me into bouncing in my earlier years. Had a heck of a time back then. Now, I'm waiting a few more years to introduce it to my son, the way my father did for me. It's a life-changing movie for many reasons... Long live the Roadhouse fans!

The food looked good at Saugus Cafe, nice old Hollywood photos in there aswell, glad there was one of Jimmy. Great video. Road House is one of my all time favorite movies. It still holds up today even being 30 years old. It’s a classic in every sense of the word.

I was an extra on roadhouse for many of the scenes. The interiors were not shot in Anaheim they were shot in a warehouse up in Newhall area which was funny you never would’ve thought in this group of warehouses that the interior of the bar was but it was. Those outdoor scenes that you talk about were indeed there. you see me in several scenes and in the shot where the crane comes down for the first look at the new double deuce you can see me run from right to left as they wanted action and I’m also behind Patrick Swayze on the DVD cover. It was great to be a part of the fight scene and see that all in person there were only a couple of stunt doubles but everybody else did their own stunts. It was also fun to watch the strip scene which was about 10 takes and the woman who was the girlfriend is I think you said she is a stunt woman now. They were long days but it was a lot of fun and Patrick Swayze could not have been any nicer of all the actors I met he was the nicest one.

I've seen this so many times. It's one of my favorite 1980's flicks. Swayze was a well established actor in '89. Red Dawn and The Outsiders were pretty successful at the box office in ticket sales. When the blockbuster hit Dirty Dancing hit the theaters in '87 I was in the military. I actually saw that movie (for the first time) in Israel. By the time Ghost made the big screen I was back home and saw it in Michigan =) * NOTE* Patrick Swayze purchased the Mercedes-Benz shown in the movie because he really liked it. He had it for a few years.

Jordan the Lion, My Father who is 80-years Old as of last Thursday and was Born and Raised in Amarillo Texas actually know's Terry Funk and the Funk Family. They actually live in a Small Town called ''Canyon Texas'' which is a small Suburban Town outside of Amarillo Texas. Terry Funk plays a bad guy in this Movie with Patrick Swayze. My Dad know's Dory Funk and Dory Funk Jr which are both Terry Funk's Father and Older Brother ,Jordan the Lion. My Dad is a huge Wrestling Fan and has met ''Dusty Rhoads,Tully Blanchard,The Von Ericks,The Funks and many more Etc..

Ben Garzara was excellent as the bad boss but also a great actor in his own right.

Hi Jordan, excellent content as always. I'll always remember 24601 Arch Street, Newhall. Reason being that way back in the late 60's through the mid 70's all the way up to the early 90's, Dick Allen Yamaha/Honda (Yes, he was actually a dealer for both) was located (just behind your back as you're narrating) at the 'S' curve which then turns into Placerita Canyon Rd. Dick would sponsor up and coming dirtbikers with jerseys, tires, and '"privateer parts" for your bike -and if you were better than the status quo - it wasn't uncommon for him and his crew to 'sponsor' you with a new prepped bike. Us oldtimers used to frequent Indian Dunes (The Dunes) which was just up the road on highway 126 (now a trailer park). Anyhow, the lot which the movie was filmed on was quite often used to romp around on our dirtbikes and I can tell you that quite few torn ligaments and other 'ouchies' occured on that lot - more often than not due to 'showing off' to Dick or to test a newly purchased bike. As an 'aside', for clarification and in the interest of accuracy - You mention the Saugus Cafe' as James Dean's last stop before heading up the Grapevine on that fateful last day back on September 30, 1955. This is incorrect. The spot he ate at last before reaching highway 466 and meeting up with Briggs Cunningham at Blackwells Corner i.e. (worlds largest parking lot) was at Castaic Landing where Lake Hughes road and the Old Ridge Route intersect. It is now a McDonalds on the north west corner. In later years before that entire area was developed, it was a simple "road house" (intended pun) eatery known as 'EATS'..I used to frequent EATS quite often as a buddy and I would often visit the relatively newly completed Castaic Dam in the 70's to put in hour after hour of water skiing. There was an older waitress whose name now escapes me (though I used to know) who served him and his 'foreigner buddy' that day. You've gone and done it again, Jordan..I'm always grateful for any kind of moment that keeps my memories alive and gives me a little taste of the excitement I used to get all the time. Thank you..... P.S. quite a few scenes from Stephen King's 'Christine' were shot VERY close-by.

Great job and information. I have lived in Santa Clarita/Saugus for 13 years and moved here from Orange which was near the club (no longer there) where the opening scene was filmed. Santa Clarita is a famous filming city for movies and tv shows. The city government actually has a department to issue filming permits in days rather than Los Angeles which takes months. In fact I live in a rural area of SC and we have a filming site about 2 miles which is used commonly for shows/movies. Another great piece of history you might want to visit and eat at is the Highway House on Sierra Highway. It has been used in many movies, tv shows and commercials. A article a few years ago said that the filming industry brings about $15M to the Santa Clarita economy. Keep up the great Vlogs and hope to see you do more in the Santa Clarita area. Also you failed to mention one of the main characters (Bar owner) played by Kevin Tighe best known as one of the paramedics in Emergency.
