its a `68 german bug, it is made for road race the gear ratio in this case give around 180kph @ 7k; I have longer ratios , its a 1500lbs car so it can take more than 210 for sure

taylor race engineering, but hewland are VERY expensive maybe around 10k, is also manufactured in USA under the name WEBSTER, these gearbox is intended to use in a formula car, I got mine from a wrecked formula ford, if your plans are to fit these unit in a VW bug it will have IRS SUSPENSION, dif side plates have to be changed to stock vw, hewland diff crown must be adapted to the vw diff or quafe tbd dif, none of these modifications of the hewland gearbox are easy or cheap good luck
