CSX Train Gets Man Upset & He Honks The Horn At A Railroad Crossing In Cincinnati. Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit & Kansas City Southern Locomotives On Long Train With Canadian Pacific & CSX Locomotives. Trains crossing the bridge over Mill Creek and passing Baltimore & Ohio Railroad signals.
The first train is a CSX manifest at the Vine Street railroad crossing in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is Norfolk Southern track. The driver gets upset after waiting a few minutes for the train and starts beeping just before the end of the train came. I waved to him but he gave the thumbs down sign. Lol. After the end of the train came he beeped again, I think as a greeting for me. See, he wasn't so bad.
Then I went to Canal Ridge just a couple miles to the south to make sure I could get some trains. I got a nice mixed freight that was led by a Norfolk Southern Heritage Unit. It was the Lehigh Valley unit.
The next train is a long one led by a CSX locomotive and followed by CPKC locomotives. It has a couple of them in Kansas City Southern paint and one in Canadian Pacific paint. This is a northbound ethanol train that we see go over the Mill Creek bridge.
Then a double stack intermodal train passes. It is led by a rebuilt NS locomotive. The train diverts off onto the Toledo Sub that goes through Glendale and into Hamilton.
The last train is a CSX manifest with all kinds of freight cars including a nice assortment of boxcars. Listen to the two locomotives working hard and shaking the ground under me. I could feel the power. Then we see the Live Action pets and the slide show that comes out of the video.

Years, and I mean many, many years ago I was sitting at a multi-track crossing (SAL/SCL era) in my car. They were doing switching moves, every time they cleared the crossing the moronic woman behind me would lay on the horn, not a beep-beep, but a very long beeeeeeeeeep, and when I refused to move (crossing still active and gates down), this dimwitted bimbo gets out of her car and tells me to drive around the gates. She's in such a hurry, and I need to get the f*** out of her way! I tried to explain to her what was going on, and if you drive around the gates with a train actively switching....(I get cut short): and she screams at me "DON'T WANT TO HEAR IT, GET OUTTA MY GD WAY A**HOLE!" No, I didn't move, now the crossing gates were starting to move up, she, in her infinite wisdom opted to drive under the crossing gate(the gate at the time was a very heavy wooden gate, not the flimsy break-away type in use today). So just as she gets her windshield under the gate, it starts back down due to a fast moving freight coming from the opposite direction, and hidden by the stopped train switching, the gate crashes into her windshield, breaking it, and also puts a nice huge, long dent in her hood as she tried to back up. Fortunately the freight was on a track far enough away she didn't get hit, but I'll bet she now had a full load in her bunched up panties.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I knew it was coming, but she, like so many impatient fools at railroad crossings just don't want to listen. She was darn lucky she didn't earn herself a Darwin Award. And I'll bet that experience still didn't teach her a lesson.😔

I'd bet NS is spending a ton on rail maintenance in Ohio after E. Palestine. As for the crazy guy honking at the train, better to slowly move away and avoid eye contact. A railfan was shot in Memphis on Nov 28th while photographing trains. Pick relatively safe spots or go with a buddy or three if railfanning sketchy areas. Wasn't always that way. I remember trudging around Cedar Hill yard (New Haven) solo, camera in hand, in my youth. Wouldn't do that now Keep the vids coming JT, you're the hardest workin man on KZfaq!

@Bebtelovimabthere is no logical or reasonable way that would ever work. And it would cause even more deaths and train derailments. This IS NOT a good idea, and one that I can guarantee would never be implemented. Just too dangerous.

That NOKL gon at 4:03 belongs to the Northwestern Oklahoma RR. They have 4.8 miles of active track in Woodward, OK and switch to BNSF for a few businesses. I have seen their lease cars in videos from Mexico to New York. If all their cars were called in, they would have to lease track from someone else to store them.

Btw, I found a railfanning hotspot yesterday (December 13, 2023). It’s an old passenger railroad station serving new customers in a new era as a restaurant. The platform was enclosed, but it’s the dining room. The dining room extends into the main ticket hall and an old passenger car serves as the banquet room.

@HolidayDecorator
@HolidayDecorator 8 ай бұрын
@@JawToothnope, this is what Cannas is: plural noun: cannas a tropical American plant with bright flowers and ornamental broad, flat leaves. A photo of the plant shows it being bright red, so kind of funny they paint it in "green". And canna can also mean cane or reed like. And just some additional info: Cannas flowers have various symbolic meanings including beauty, protection, glory, power, hope and confidence. Some consider them flowers of purification. So, take your pick what it might mean on a specific style railcar. At least this is what I found using Google to get info on the word and its meaning. Oops, forgot to mention, I have 2 of these plants in my flower bed too.

I really hate seeing all of the vandalism on the rail cars now . When I was growing up you didn’t see that and now a lot of people don’t have no respect for other people’s property and it’s sad. One of the biggest complaints I hear about on the news is concerning the ever increasing lengths of trains. Go back 60 to 100 years ago, trains were relatively short. A 100 car train of 40-foot cars wasn’t that long. A 200-car train of 70 to 80-foot cars is much longer! They can block more crossings for a longer period of time.

Awesome trains! A monster lashup, a couple of tankers, an intermodel, and a guy with a corn cob in his panties😂. Good work. Thanks for the video, Brian. Stay well roll on

NS 4755 with fresh paint. A lot of tanker cars, I like matted black rather than shiny ones. What an impatient driver! Damn

Those logs are power pole heading to be soaked and then used. They were very long. Mills take 17' or thereabouts depending on what they make. Hard and soft are different due to mill types.

You're lucky that guy didn't extend a middle finger instead of a thumb. You should go set up a fund for all the orphaned steel coil cars, LOL.

All those long trains in today's video, plenty of head-end power, and no DPUs - interesting!

Some long ones today, and no DPUs. We had a 3-156, 3-148, 4-100, 3-89, and the last one was 2-131. Should have had more power on that last one. Ever notice how NS tends to commonly have 3 unit lashups?

I agree, thanks for posting the aerial shots. I often check them out as well. Something else to do is check out the location on Historic Aerials. You can go back to as early as the 1930s in some instances. It looks like LaGrange has photos from the 1950s visible where you can see the yard in nearly full operation after the street-running section.
