1. Google search (all plateforms of Google inc.) Trains, Road, Travelling, vehicles etc.. 2. Google (and other apps/software) want your information like history, gps, location, privacy and etc.. 3. All the application filters your search and gives you advertise/recommendations accordingly. 4. Which implies no. 2 and 1 are it's call AI algorithm, and no.3 is the output.

I see someone figured how to adapt a road vehicle to narrow-gauge hyrail; very clever. Back in 1981 we adapted a 20 ton Little Giant truck crane to 3 foot gauge hyrail by using a single wheel set under the crane end and a truck under the front end while moving it on the track with a 12 ton locomotive.

Interesting document. Albula railways, the dream. UNESCO Welterbe. Maybe the most gorgeous railway in the world. In Tirano and in Chur, the train's running in the street. Together with cars. To be watched. When it was built at the beginning of the XXth century I knew that Albula railway was an engineering challenge. 39 tunnels and 55 viaducts, including the Brusio one and those over the Landwasser. But I had never thought how difficult it would be to intervene on such an acrobatic railway. I am glad to see that this problem has now been fixed by RhB. The lovely red trains can run safely.

I had seen a simple old time lorry fitted with wheels for tracks while Railway track relaying was in progress. I also had the doubt about its ability. It was quite interesting to see just 2 people replacing the tyres with wheels. The wheels were the same one as used in trains but on some occasion was light weight hard anodized aluminium (I know little about metallurgy)

this video goes to prove that here in the US we have a better system for the electric lines that power the electric trains. i am specifically talking about the catanary lines. in this video you can clearly show that they are straight which causes wear and tear on 1 section of the pantograph contact point causing it to need to be replaced much faster. our system has the lines zig-zaging down the line which causes wear and tear over the entire contact point meaning it can last much longer before needing to be replaced. our pantographs are also lifted by air pressure so if a break in the air line was to happen, the pantograph would drop cutting power to the car and stoping the train.

That same system is used in most countries. Maybe not here though.
@teacher555555
@teacher555555 3 жыл бұрын
@@paulkeith9680 yes and most countries will be doing it wrong. take a close look at the lines, they go straight which wears down the pantograph contact in one spot meaning you have to replace it faster or it wil eventually cut the line if it was to get snagged. this is the episode in which the US electric lines are shown. this is the ONLY US electric route. there are smaller ones like inside the cities but this goes from DC to boston. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fqmKarqev7-Ulas.html

You are wrong, ist has Zigzag too but as its low speed and only 1000V they can use a simple catenary. On other lines different catenarys are in use. In Switzerland 99% of the Railways are electric. So we have 3200 miles of catenary as much as the whole of the USA in 1930 and much more today. We have experience for 130 Years
@teacher555555
@teacher555555 Жыл бұрын
@@felixtheswiss no i am not. the US does put more interest into planes than trains because the US is just about the same size as the whole of Europe so think about how much each European country has spent on rail and multiply that by at least 30x for the US. so no we do not and will not have a network system like Switzerland but we might have more electric tracks because of all of the cities in the US using electric subways. but for the electric lines we do have, the entire length zigzags not just low speed because it causes even wear on the catenary and pantagraph.

@@punarv trains already exist. For normal transportation this system combines the downsides of both trucks and trains. Downside of trucks: People-intensive, every truck needs its own driver. Harmful to the environment. Slow. Limited cargo capacity. Downside of trains: fixed to a given route. Congestion of the railway system. And on top of that a road-rail vehicle is heavier than a normal truck, therefore it can carry less payload.

Why would you say that? Road-rail vehicles are been in use all over the world for decades. And putting a fire truck on such a platform is not new either. The oldest road-rail fire truck that I know of is from 1972. There are places, like in a railway tunnel, which only a road-rail vehicle or a firefighting and rescue train can reach. And road-rail vehicles are much more versatile than a train. Or would you rather have the firefighters walk the last few kilometers to the place of accident?
@qwertyTRiG
@qwertyTRiG 4 жыл бұрын
Most road rail vehicles are for track inspection and maintenance. This example was a fire truck, or at least was decked out as one for the ad. But they were advertising their conversion service that would provide vehicles to spec.
