The start of the tour is in Dietikon. It is the fifth biggest city of the canton of Zürich and the capital of the same-named district of Dietikon and part of the Zürich metropolitan area. The town has around 22,000 inhabitants.
The end of the tour is in Wallisellen, a town in the district of Bülach in the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It is located in the Glatt Valley and has about 16000 inhabitants. The municipality is also home to the large shopping center Glatt (or Glattzentrum), one of the largest shopping centers in Switzerland. Various international companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, Ford Motor Company and NCR have their Swiss headquarters in Wallisellen.
Zurich is the largest city in Switzerland with more than 400'000 inhabitants. The city is located at the northwestern tip of Lake Zurich. Zurich is a hub for railways, roads and air traffic. The airport and the main railway station are the largest and busiest in the country. Zurich is also one of the largest financial centres in the world and home to many financial institutions and banking companies. The old town (Altstadt) is called District 1 (Kreis 1) and includes the historical part of the city.
