This was a trip of a lifetime! We drove with 2 cars from Senegal to Ivory Coast, let me show you all the highlights of this West Africa Road Trip!
First I will show you Senegal's capital Dakar with Ngor Beach and Ngor Island as well as the Institut Francais, before we move on to The Gambia. There we discover wildlife at the Gambia River National Park, ancient culture at the Wassu Stone Circle, crocodiles at the Kachikally Crocodile Pool and monkeys in the Monkey Forest. We check out some markets and Gambia's capital Banjul. In order to go further South, we needed to cross back into Senegal. Let me quickly show you the Alliance Francais Ziguinchor.
We then head on to Guinea-Bissau where I will show you the capital Bissau and the fascinating little town Bafatá with its colonial architecture. We then cross into Guinea where we have the first real problems with the cars. Let me show you the crazy market in Labé. After this you will see one of the highlights of the trip, the Kambadaga Falls! After this, see the picturesque Coyah.
We move on to Freetown in Sierra Leone, before discovering the stunning Bureh Beach. Up next is Tiwai Island, right in the middle of the jungle.
Next stop is Liberia's capital Monrovia, with the fascinating Ducor Hotel, a crazy lost place. We then head on to Ivory Coast where I will show you the biggest church of Africa, Notre Dame de la Paix in Yamasoukro. Last but not least, you will see Grand Bassam with its gorgeous colonial architecture in the Quartier France.
Mostly #shotoniphone . Drone footage by Juan Martinez (@travellersbuddy), thank you!
Also thank you to my other amazing travel buddies Anne and Clemens (@travellersarchive), Janina and Dominik! It would not have been the same without you guys.
Last but not least, a huge thank you to Marlon (@marlonwestafrica) and Moussa, our drivers and fixers!

Great video! I am planning a road trip across west Africa for May, I also have an ECOWAS so visas shouldn't be an issue, could you recommend a private driver? Thanks
