i would proberly go for the Equus.... Yes... the brand is korean... But i know that you get much more for your money...... And... It is proberly gonna be more reliable and easier to work on yourself

They made no mention of how uncomfortable the suspension setup on the Jaguar is. It's great to drive yourself, but when in the back, I get a headache from the harsh vibration at town speeds. They also didn't refer to the plastic-like leather used in the BMW. It does not feel luxurious at all. The Audi does win out of this bunch, in my books, for fuss free chauffeured commuting, BUT the Mercedes-Benz S-class wins for comfort and cabin ambience. The outgoing Lexus LS600h is beautiful too.

Frankly I would take Hyundai Equus with Ultimate pkg over any of those vehicles in its class segment (beside Audi A8, which I personally think is the best of all), those are being S-class (which is way overpriced and #1 in unreliability), BMW 7 series (lots of tech issues and quite horrible resale value), Lexus LS 460 (which has nothing special or better than Equus but that extra $15-$20K price), as I mentioned before only Audi A8 can stand out as the winner of all, Hyundai Equus being the second for sure. All the tech features, reliability, unbeatable warranty and of course the price tag are the reasons what make Equus to be the second best choice after Audi A8 in this segment. I personally don't care about a brand name, what I do care is that I want to make sure that I will get the best product for the money that I'm spending and in this case Hyundai Equus is the ONLY option to go with!!! Way to go Hyundai!!! Teach those "thieves" how to make and sale a car within affordable price for buyers, while keeping everybody happy!!!

Resell value of the cars tested with the base model and no options on all of them - same condition listed (excellent) on Kelly Blue Book - 78000 miles: Hyundi - $14,473 BMW - $15,958 Audi - $21,356 Jaguar - $18,909 The price difference is not that great anymore. Depreciation on the Hyundai as a percentage is the lowest. I would not have guessed that.

@Taureg96 - i think it's because the LS was fairly old.... so the Equus took it's place as the Asian entrant. The Hyundai is the upstart just like when Lexus started.

Agree...the reviewers didn't read their press docs.... Hyundai Equus was the very first luxury vehicle to offer the 8 speed transmission and everyone else followed suit. I believe all of vehicles in this review comes with 8 speed transmission.

I've long felt that despite their higher prestige name recognition, the BMW and Mercedes are less impressive than the Audi among German manufacturers. Both the interior design and the performance are better in the Audi. As for BMW's dreaded I-Drive system, many of us wonder if it is short for "I drive you insane" because it is so difficult to master. The best buy of these four was, for obvious reasons of cost comparison, the Equus by Hyundai. It may not have quite the snob appeal or the handling dynamics of the other entries on this list but for sheer value it has to be the pick of the litter.

750li definitely the biggest headache followed by the Jag.

They didn't include the S-Class because it was 6 model years old, and Mercedes-Benz specifically asked that they not include it. Because, presumably, it would have placed last/performed poorly.

@GH0192837465 Does the LS come in long wheelbase form? Maybe it does, but maybe only in China, not the North American market? I thought about the Benz S-class and realized that the long wheelbase version of that is basically a Maybach, so a little out of this test's price range I think. But if the Lexus LS comes in a long wheelbase version, it definitely should have been here too. I thought the Equus was the LS for a second when I saw it at 0:15!

all car companies copy other car companies in one way or another. hyundai might just do it more noticeably than others. plus the equus and the genesis are the first entries to the luxury segment by hyundai. companies like lexus and infiniti also copied other luxury car companies when they first came out.
