I'm a simple man. I see Wintersun, I click 'Like'.

Do the whole Forest Seasons album. Each song is different, like different are the seasons. You will be blown away by Spring, even more by Summer. Autumn will crush you, it's the most glorious piece of black metal I've ever heard and I'm literally forgetting to breath while experiencing it. The piece is majestic. And then comes the Winter... soft and cold and beautiful. For this one bring the tissues.

Ayyy more Wintersun! I know everyone will tell you to do Loneliness next, but as much as I love the crap out of that one, I feel like all 4 songs of the Forest Seasons album are worthy of a reaction. And since it's just 4 songs, might as well go in order to get the full scope of what Jari was going for? Spring, Summer, Autumn and then finally Winter i.e Loneliness. Up to you, though. All Wintersun is good Wintersun so I'll take what I get haha

Jari is VERY particular, but that madness is what results in these absolutely unbelievable epics that we get. Watching and listening to them work, whether these videos or live in person, is an absolute treat. As always, you killed it. Fantastic video, and you have got to go see Wintersun as soon as you can. It just hits you in a different way.

You should check Wintersun's first album. I recommend "Winter Madness", or "Starchild". If you want a more emotional song, "Loneliness" from The Forest Seasons album. And if you are interested in listening to Jari in Ensiferum, you should try Lai Lai Hei or Lost in Despair

To be honest, I love their debut album sooo much better. Starchild, Winter Madness, Beautiful Death. Pretty much the whole album. Not diss their newest work but their debut album is just gold for me♡♡

Winter Madness, Sleeping Stars, Starchild, Beyond the Dark Sun along with Death and Healing from their first album are complete bangers. In fact the entire first album is one of my absolute favourites. The Four Seasons are also damn good, Autumn is incredibly juicy if you dig older black metal vibes and Winter tugs at your heart strings a fair bit. As someone who lives in the cold north, he has this very strange way of captivating the emotion of walking through a desolate, frigid landscape with nothing but your own thoughts keeping you company. The world might be fucked, humanity might be shit, but I am truly happy that I got to live in the same era as incredible musicians such as these guys.

Next Loneliness!!! Maybe the crown jewel in the discography of these guys and possibly the best vocal performance of Jari in any Wintersun song.

Always a pleasure to see your reactions, even more when it's Wintersun. For another ballad the certain choice is Loneliness (Jari made it for his dad), very melancholic but extremely beautiful. But I would love to see some of their old stuff here in the channel, Winter Madness (mind blowing solo), it's heavy, raw and very "old school" melodeath sound, I think you will enjoy

Kai Hahto is the one who opened my eyes to what goes on behind the drums and not just be blinded by the rest of the spectacle. These days my favorite musicians are people like Inferno, Kai, or Francesco Paoli (on drums). Jari is aspie level perfectionist about everything so no wonder it snuck its way into the music and is probably the main reason we have to wait many years for new stuff. It's not that computers crash under the load of 200 tracks. It's because Jari doesn't get the sound he wants from the 200 tracks limited by computer hardware

*WINTERSUN - THE WAY OF THE FIRE* : So far you've seen Wintersun live but in a very professionally controlled environment. There's one song from their (hopefully) upcoming album "Time II" which poses the second half of what was supposed to be one whole album. It's called "The Way Of The Fire" and there's a semi-well recorded video of them performig it in Hollywood in 2013. And in my humble opinion, even if it's not studio quality of course, I think it's their best song (so far). I just found out your channel while randomly browsing Wintersun related stuff and wow! I love the reactions man! I'm a roadie (and a some sort of a amateur drummer) myself and I have been on stage as a roadie for Ensiferum, COB (RIP), Wintersun, Nightwish, Devin Townsend ... just to name a few, mostly at Tuska Festival and other festivals around Finland. Mainly for metal shows, cause I'm a metalhead myself, lul. I love how you put those infochecks about the artist, the band, and the gear. It just adds so much more into the reaction itself! This song is kind of a transitional song between Sons and Time, that's why in itself it feels like it ends without a bigger climax. The next and the last song of the album Time is the climax and I think this song works better in the context of the whole album

First Wintersun album is work of art :) You should check something from it. I recommend: "Death and the healing" - IMO best song and powerful solo, "Winter Madness" - best and hardest solo of all time ""Battle Against Time" - for headbanging :D "Beautiful Death" - sweep section in this solo is just sick You won't be dissapointed :)

I've watched you for a bit, and I have something that I think you might like. Hevisaurus - 100 (It is a Finnish band) If anyone knows them, don't say, so it will be a surprise. Quote from band: "The song ”100” is literally the 100th song released by Hevisaurus and the 3rd single from the new album ”Bändikouluun!”. Because of this special occasion we asked our friends to join in and this is what happened." There are 26 guest performers; singers and guitarist. The band is live, but the guests perform in their studios/homes. The temptation that you can't resist: The first guest singer is Marco Hietala from Nightwish. I chose this song to recommend, as Teemu Mäntysaari from Wintersun is a guest guitarist.

The CD Time I is made to be listened to start to finish as each song leads into the next. The two other songs on the CD are short instrumentals that either help ling the songs or serve as an intro into one. It is essentially a 40+ minute song.

I don't know if you saw, but Jari recently released a video of a whole concert from 2015. You might want to check it out.

wintersun, beyond of the dark sun.. short but fucking epic.

This is the second to last song on the album, winding it down. To understand, I highly suggest you get that album yourself and listen to it from start to finish in one go. It starts slowly (you can hear that part at the beginning of "Sons") and winds down after "Land". I have to add that I bought that album in a heartbeat after watching your reaction to it. I was blown away by the whole arrangement. I won't pick a favourite track of the album because to me it's one song altogether.

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned this (I didn't have time to go through all 350+ comments), but if you haven't heard it, check out Xanthochroid's cover of this song. Wintersun themselves supposedly really liked it. Oh, and I agree, this is not a song to headbang to. It's a song of lost hopes and last stands, of fading light and coming darkness. If it didn't rock so much it would be really, really depressing.

I love seeing your reactions to Wintersun songs! This one in particular has a very Devin Townsend chord progression that I love and it builds to an atmospheric crescendo that really captures that Finnish landscape. I think you would also enjoy reacting to Omnium Gatherum, Scar Symmetry, or Mors Principium Est for really melodic death metal that you haven't already done a video for. They all have extremely good musicianship and I think you would really dig looking into their gear. Thanks for taking the time to do these, they're fantastic breakdowns!

I strongly recommend Loneliness from their latest album The Forest seasons!

I truly love this song. It shows what the band can do without the "excesses" of the other songs. Don't understand me wrong, as I love Time and Sons of Winter and Stars, too, but this one just gives us another look at the band, i.e. what they can do with a slower song without losing the heavy aspect of the music. TBH, I find that in some ways this song actually is in some parts heavier. A particular like of mine is the sound they do with the guitar that in a way stops the flow and makes a "complaint". Sorry that I cannot explain that better :-) Also, I like how this song highlights the backing vocals - they are incredible. IMO, all three singers are something special.

Forest Seasons next, the whole album song by song, the official videos. Loneliness (Winter) is the best Wintersun song IMHO.

I know I’m late on this, but I was watching your Band-Maid and Babymetal reactions. I love them both and seen them both live. I wanted mention some other great Japanese metal bands you would totally love. Mary’s Blood, Lovebites, LADYBABY and PASSCODE. These bands are really great and as a metal head I’m glad I’ve discovered them to expand my library with talented artists like them.

If you want heavy and dark Wintersun then listen to Eternal Darkness it’s the 3rd song from The Forest Seasons. But if you wanna do it right listen to all The Forest Seasons in order, there are only 4 songs on the album. It’s Jari’s take on Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

You mentioned Evertunes. I believe Jari is a fan of those. He has at least 1 video on his channel where he talks about them. I'm pretty sure that Teemu also has them installed in some of his guitars and does like the system.

Really gotta check Brymir. I describe them as if it were Wintersun but only the crazy headbanging moments. There's not a bad song to be had off their albums "Slayer of Gods" or "Wings of Fire". Stand out tracks for me are Slayer of Gods, The Black Hammer, Pantheon of Forsaken Gods, Wings of Fire, And So We Age..., and Hails From The Edge.

Great to have you back to Wintersu's music! As many have suggested, their 2017 album 4 Forest Seasons is good to listen to from start to finish in order. But I think I write about this in the past ...? And remember, the album doesn't have a drummer ... It's a machine. Funny when we say that Kai is a machine, then Jari doesn't get Kai on this album (Kai is already busy with Nightwish), so what does Jari do. Replace Kai with a machine ...! :D If you decide to turn to the older direction (first album was released 2004), then my favorites from the first album are "Winter Madness" and "Death and the Healing." That former holds a really interesting guitar solo! And if you want to listen to "The Way of the Fire" (which is a song from the upcoming Time 2 album), then two options. Either that second video from 2013 that someone put on. It has better sound quality. Or "70,000 Tons of Metal 2015", the sound quality may not be so good, but the atmosphere is better. In addition, you can see the whole stage. And if you end up in this video, let me know what’s going on behind the band. Are there preparing a stage for the next band? I wonder Kai can play when that number of people are working behind him. But that Jari’s second guitar solo, don’t let your gaze get away. That solo is definitely one of my favorites. Partly similar to the song "Winter Madness".

Can’t go wrong with Wintersun. The first album is very fast paced. You’ll have your head banging moments for sure. Forest seasons is great as well. Jaris vocals on “loneliness” will make your hair stand up. After you’ve checked out the rest of Wintersuns albums, let me reccomend looking into “dark tranquillity” from Sweden. They have been around a long time and are probably right up your alley.
