This song saved my life

Been going through a period of heavy depression since November and this song hits me hard. For anybody else suffering through depression we can all get through this with the help of great songs like this.

This song will always be special to me, it was the first song I ever heard by the amity affliction and I've been following every since. Litterally my favorite band of all time.

"I'm not searching the sky for a reason to live, cause I've found beauty right here, and a passion to give." What that means to me is I'm not searching for happiness because I've found happiness in my own life and enjoyment in giving and seeing others be happy.

People interpret songs in different ways. This song helped me through a rough time and to me, this song is about finding your way out of a dark place, finding a reason to live and appreciating what you have. I found that this song also inspires me to use my dark experiences to help people who may be going through similar situations. No two situations are the same, no matter the amount of similarities. That doesn't mean you can't help. Use your experiences, don't let them haunt you.

This song is what made me fall in love with this band. I heard it in 2013 and NEVER turned back! And I finally get to see them live THIS THURSDAY IN PHILLY!!! I HAVE GOOSEBUMPS

Everyone is complaining about it being a generic clip. For Amity, a generic clip is the song being dubbed over a live performance. The song is about appreciating everything and everybody you have while you're alive so why not have it themed as a party?

Chasing Ghosts is definitely the best album from The Amity Affliction. The band expanded on their first two albums by adding more meaningful lyrics and overall messages, while also keeping the same powerful transitions from clean to unclean vocals. Repetition is one key component of this album. Longer, catchier choruses take place at least three times on each track. Another concept that’s repeated is the overarching theme of the album. It is known that Chasing Ghosts is based on suicide, and some topics that branch off of this are support, and the act of not coming back from death. Amity completely set the pace for years to come, in terms of success.

I don't think the video has the same energy as the song. I get the meaning behind it, it just dosn't fit. They should have made the video in the same vein as Chasing Ghosts.

The lyrics are actually an 'Open Letter' To all the Amity fans. It's more of a fan appreciation than a meaningful anti-suicide song.

For everyone wondering about the music video. There is no real meaning as far as the music video goes. We can make an inference though. As I've read on Pandora, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this band was inspired by a friends Death. If you look at the lyric "I've been searching under rubble from the past" it correlates to the music video because the video clearly shows a mess of a party. Maybe this was signaled to represent that they're putting all of their anger and frustration behind them, and revealing strength. Most likely this song is about the death of a friend, as evident in the line "I'm not searching the sky for a reason to live." On a side note, I hope whoever reads this is having a great day, and know that you're loved by someone and needed by someone, even if they're far away.
