It’s not often we get a rider’s perspective when talking about motorbike safety. Check out the second video in a series of four. It talks to riders about their experiences navigating some of NSW’s popular riding roads. Episode 2 features the Old Pacific Highway as presented by Rodney ‘Champo’ Champness.

It's a pity theyve wrecked that road by setting the speed limit to 60. It used to be 100 and had overtaking lanes in the shortest of spaces, there was way more traffic on it including trucks, cars were using crossply tyres and drum brakes etc. The most absolute scariest part of that road now is the worry of being booked for 80 in a 60 zone that used to be 100.

Statistics show that 100kmh was not suitable. If going 60 means more people returning to their families, friends or colleague, then so be it.

@@Matthew_M11 Maybe not for a truck or car, a sport bike is perfectly capable of dropping into a corner at 100.

@@crunchytheclown9694 yes but people keep dying. So if people stopped dying driving speed limits would be raised.

@@Matthew_M11 we have 10 times the traffic and a quarter of the deaths, zero is not achievable
