I'm getting too much air through the hyper breather. It has a dead skip mid throttle and I can reach the flaps and close them and the skip goes away. I believe I'm sucking air somewhere and the flaps aren't reacting quick enough. At the dead skip, I twist more throttle and it smooths out. I'm thinking intake manifold is cracked..

He hasn't been back, but I did message him, and he said the trouble code is still on. But he's not worried about it. It's probably the tps sensor. The bike is till running great anyway.

Hello, I did try disconnecting the TPS but the light comes on. So, I removed the tps and connected just the tps but the light still came on. I had to flip the speedometer bezel over and drill out the LED that lights up the engine light, because the customer wanted the Harley carburetor. He said it felt like it added more horsepower. It ran better anyway. I don't know any other way to get the engine light to go off. Good luck with your project and let me know how it goes. But you have a problem with the TPS, either it fails or it doesn't, I just want to know why I want to install the Harley carburetor to get rid of the TPS problem, the TPS fails me a lot.

I think I pretty much showed every trick in the video. The only thing I didn't show was picking the right brackets to support it. I had a box full of different brackets and I found the ones that worked the best! Good luck!

It sounds like the float is sticking in the float bowl. It could have some dirt in the tank and causing it to stick. I don't think it would have anything to do with the hypercharger. I would get a carburetor kit and change out all of the rubber pieces in the carburetor. Good luck with your project.

I used a 40 mm carb. Watch part one and two. I think I described everything. My customer did report that his check engine light came on. He hasn't been back in for me to check it yet, but I suspect it's because the throttle position sensor isn't in the carburetor. You might just want to look for a hypercharger kit that was designed to use the original carb. Thanks for watching, and good luck with your project!

Vacuum increases as the throttle increases. That's what opens the butterflies. It needs more air as you throttle up. It draws way more air through the intake when accelerating.

@@WrenchesCorner Sorry, but disagree. Even Google says "As the throttle blades open, restriction and vacuum are reduced. This allows more air/fuel into the cylinder and rpm increases. With the throttle wide open, airflow is maximized and vacuum is at its least." Just mentioning because I'm fitting same to my XV1600. Might be wrong but looked like your butterflies were closing as you blipped throttle?

@@WrenchesCorner to be honest I wasn't sure on the set-up as I did same as you and got a used one off ebay. Thought it was strange that it was fully open when off the bike but then read that once bike is idling, the vacuum pressure overcomes the spring tension and shuts the butterflies. Then, as throttle is opened and vacuum decreases, the spring opens the butterflies as spring tension becomes greater than vacuum pressure. So as I understand (still to fully hook up on my bike), with bike off, butterflies open, start bike, butterflies close, then open as throttle opened. Just looked as though yours were operating opposite? When your bike is idling, are your butterflies open or closed?

@@AndrewKettle-to2uj When it is idling the butterflies are open. When the bike is running, they open. When the bike shuts off, they close. They are really for decoration and don't truly add horsepower is what I understand. There is a large opening on the bottom of the hypercharger for air to come through.

That's a cv40. I used the jets that came with it, but I think it's running on the lean side. I'm going to jet it 2 main jet sizes bigger and then check the plugs again.

I was not able to order any of the adapter kit parts. Everything is on back order indefinitely. I also have the problem that it's becoming almost impossible to order anything aftermarket for the fuel system in California. I had to make the brackets and all.

Well, I’ll say this you’re doing a fine job…I rebuilt my carb and started today. Worked cherry as soon as I tightened down the hypercharger

Hypercharger does make a difference, just not a huge amount. Revs are definitely sitting WAY too low though
