One guy misspoke, saying it has a 2,500 ton capacity in the material hopper 😂 either way, it’s a good looking machine!

I was just about to post the same thing and read your comment. I am in the market for a MTF and thought 2500 tons really.....WOW I can dump 120 semi loads in this baby before we start in the morning, awesome, where is the 400 foot long buggy that hooks up to this thing! You would think that engineers discussing their new baby would know better when it left their lips. Funny!

Is there a way to speed up C2? We have one but it’s really slow when feeding hopper of paver

I’m guessing you have tried the speed dial for the c2 and turned it up

paving with sma, on our 25000, sma builds up massivly ontop of the baffles above c2 augar, when this happens you choke your c2 out, so you need to free it up with a lot of diesel, how are we going to be able to do that now., we have the cleaning sprayers already, they dont really help with this situation, you have to run the buggy down and flood the blockage a couple times to clear your issue.. Good luck.

A good idea might be too have the baffle all way down on c2. Spray down really good before you start. With slow removal of asphalt heat up C2 area. After about 10 trucks raise up baffle C2. Now that belly is warm should stop buildup on sides. Every hour or so let load go down just above baffle and turn on sprayers for 10 seconds or so. Then start taking a load. Hope I was of help.

@@randyracedaystacey5806 we diesel up before we start.. the reality is you don't have time on night shift with cold temps to run the baffle down low for 10 trucks.. It's just the nature of sma in cold weather, If I had a choice, I would stick to the old proven design. we now have 3 cat buggies and have retired all but two of our roadtec buggies,

@@AnarchyEnsues how true that is I know. Time. Have myself in past taken two full loads into empty trucks to warm everything up. Hydraulics , bearings. I don't have an option to cat. I find that kind of mix really hard on the machine.

@oyvey SMA is always a difficult material to use because it is very sticky. We know that, so it was the first thing we ever put into this prototype machine (might as well get it over with, right?). The key to working with material like that is the same as our recommendation for everyday use - make sure the machine is in top shape. Before you start, spray down everything with your release agent of choice. I always start with the left side of the dump hopper, move across the augers to the chains and spend extra time on them. Next chain, the auger and right side of the dump hopper and then off to C2. Keep going all the way around. Access to many points on the SB-3000 is different than the SB-2500 you are used to, but they are all easy to get to so that you keep doing it right. Once everything is soaked and it is time to start the day, always make sure to send the hottest load straight through the machine first. Getting heat into the metal early is key! When we get the day started right we almost never see material stick inside the machine. We hope that helps, but if you need something more specific please reach out to our Service Department who are always available at 1.800.272.7100
