I'm with you about the self-centered Walmart RVers who put out slides, awnings, and chairs. I want to tell them, take your luxury rig and pay for a space.

Totally agree with you! I mean if they're way in the back parked so the slide is facing a grassy area and they're only doing it for a short while and not planning on staying over night there like that then maybe that's fine. But no putting out chairs and rugs and NO running a generator either.

Under normal circumstances, yes, definitely. But this is Alaska (much more casual) and a small town, and maybe, just maybe, chairs out, slides out, etc. are allowed by Fred Meyer. I wish Carolyn would have thought of going in and asking management...she might have been pleasantly surprised! But she was understandably pretty tired. God bless.

Great video I'm pretty sure you are showing a lot more of the raw natural Alaska then many of the other RV'ers that have traveled to Alaska this year are, and I love that. Thank you for all the time you put in sharing your travels with us. I love seeing Capone looking so happy. You gave him the best life most dogs...or even people only dream of.

I speak a little Russian as well. Russia is a beautiful country. One trip I went in July, it was very hot. It was somewhere between Moscow and Tver when I saw the most beautiful view I have ever seen. It was a field of sunflowers, as far as the eyes could see!! Unbelievable!!

Seeing the surrounding grounds and cemetery of the Russian Orthodox church immediately made me think of the hard-working people who once lived in that village so many years ago. What a beautiful cemetery. So much lovely covered in wildflowers compared to gravel, barren grave yards. Loved Capone taking himself for a walk. Miss him too.

A very wise Nun called Mother Angelica once said she was finding out people were tired during their vacations and would almost need another vacation just to rest up from their prior vacation because they were pushing themselves past their limits... How true that is in this world today...it brings to mind to me that people work all week 12 hrs to 16 hrs a day for 5 days then the weekend comes and they are on the go constantly not getting that much needed rest from the grueling week... and wonder why they can't cope... Love the music and the flute your bought... Take care!

Thank you for sharing beloved Capone with us still ❣❣❣ I know some people think you need to stop but I absolutely disagree with them. I love Capone and you and your videos and would love to see his beautiful face in every video you post even if it is just a short shot of him. So many people are still waiting to see him with you so keep bringing him back to us. I just hope it doesn't make it harder for you. You are loved Carolyn...and you were my first experience watching someone living &traveling in an RV. I was so mesmerized by the idea of it because I love to drive and have wanted to travel. It's just me and my 5 little Chihuahuas now after getting out of a very toxic marriage of abuse. You were my inspiration and continue to inspire me. It's sad that we have so many people out there serving up videos of cruddy content expecting us to lap it up. You have never disappointed me. Take care ❣❣

Palmer...you were within a few miles of my son and his family (3 grandchildren). I drive my van up every other year to visit. Summer of 2017 drove to Prudhoe Bay, beautiful. We raised our children in Alaska, 14 years, and still have places to see. Glad you’re enjoying.

Your video of Alaska was very special to me. I spent a year and a half there working at the hospital as a traveler. Loved the area along with the Russian village. I rented an rv in anchorage and drove up to chena hot springs North Pole Fairbanks Denali homer. Two sisters bakery is awesome 😃. Glad you shared this. Sorry your so tired. Love the time you spent with you pup. Precious. 😍

So sorry you lost your best buddy. Moved to Alaska 34 years ago. Work in Anchorage and live in Soldotna. Most weekends I drive that road home or fly on Ravn. Don't particularly like the curves around Cooper Landing. They are still doing road construction. Lived in the Matanuska Valley for about 12 years. Kudos to you for doing the trip by yourself. I never tire of Alaskas beauty. By the way I'm 70 years old. Have a good trip.

Prudhoe Bay!!! Whoa, you are bad ass...and so is Phoenix. Will love to see your trek there. Glad you have a good rig. It is very heartwarming to see you and Capone together and on adventure. Your Alaska trip has been amazing for us that have never traveled to such lovely places. Truly breathtaking landscapes, fauna and flora. Beautiful. The wild flowers are lovely in the cemetery. Things won't be the same for a long time, but you sure have some amazing memories and video.

I stopped in Palmer on my AK vacation a couple times. Ate at the DQ & at that Fred Myers. Seems like alot of AK is growing as far as population. I was also in AK in 2005 and I didn't remember all the new homes going up on the north end of Summit Lake. Pretty sure none of those homes were there then.

Capone! Having a companion is more important than some realize. Even if you don't get another dog, I hope you consider something. Like a cat perhaps. They are great companions with low maintenance. You could leave a cat for a couple days. Its definitely a personal thing, owning a pet. I just firmly believe that having another heartbeat near us and having some sort of responsibility to another, even minimal, is medicine to the soul.

Oh my did you ever make me homesick. The fireweed looked like it’s blooming out. That’s how we always knew when winter was coming. I lived just outside Soldotna going toward Anchorage. You pulled out of a road called Kenai Keys and I lived on the other side of the Highway 1/2 mile back off the road. If I was still there I would have offered you my back yard and home as long as you wanted to stay and Capone 😢 would have had lots to roam. ❤️🐶🚐🏕🔥

When the tourists leave is the best time in AK. Sept has clear skies and the mountains come out, less mosquitoes and you can get a seat in restaurants! Didn't see if you went to downtown Talkeetna. Lots of trails, three Rivers, 14 mile paved bike trails and the best restaurants

I wanted to say the same thing but was afraid of coming off as a little insensitive. You put it so well. She will always love Capone, but she won't be happy again until she fills that hole in her heart. I trust she will know when, but until then it's proper to note that there are so many pups, and older dogs who's owners may have passed, in need of love.

Totally agree with your comments on parking at stores. Have seen the same thing in places like California where people set up and stay for days instead of just a place to sleep for the night. Campgrounds really need to get onboard with a low priced overnight site for a safe place to spend a night and get back on the road.

Ah look at you finding my fav spot in AK... I've written books and movies that start from that point on the bluff in Ninilchik ... and wanted my Dad to be laid to rest at Veterans cemetery off Stariski State Recreation Area, a fav place of his that I highly recommend for clamming.
