With the Accessories of the vehicle starting to get abit crazy, it was time to upgrade one of the most key points of the vehicle, The suspension. Not only would we be lifting the already sagging body, but we would also be improving the ride quality and stability of the Jimny. @@jay-fl4pv definitely. I have a new Jimny ordered andhave steel rims and tyres ready to put on. Just with the wheel offset and new 215 tyres I have gained 30mm in width each side. 5mm inside and 25mm outside. No need for spacers and in my country you have to pay to get spacers certified.

The New Jimny, a oldschool simple offroad vehicle with modern details! But still oldschool! Second shifter, driving 2L regularly, 4H for easy terrain and 4L for heavy duty! Body on frame! Its heavy hardcore compared to "moms big shopping SUVs"!! I would love to have one, I'd really do :) but money is too short at this moment :(

Looks like a great kit. Only thing I would say is wheel spacers make baby jeases cry 😂. Seriously next time you do tyres get a set of negative offset rims. Much better and safer than wheel spacers! Don't have much experience with Gabriel shocks off road in Australia but I am interested to see how they hold up.

@Barry Foster I'm of the same opinion here. Yes they are something else to go wrong. However, if you installed them correctly and torqued them correctly. I cannot see any issues. Jimny is very thin, and when doing sand trails your wheels don't fit into the track, Spacers can help you a lot here.

I loved Suzuki Jimny, this small car performed task with well managed like other Brand 4*4 SUV which are more costly then this. Looking forward to buying this car once this will launched in Asia - pacific region, and i do like to upgrade suspension system, steering damper and mountain tyres too. The widened track dimension looks good and dramatic but the disadvantage of wheel spacers is the greatly increased radial strain on the wheel bearings. Inspect frequently and use high quality grease.

Indeed, according to the maths the engineer told me there would be a 7% increase on bearing wear. A lot less than even driving through dirty water 👌🏻

Keepin it simple is the key, being an owner of a 2019 Jimny myself, the problem of juggling CG, weight, aerodynamics always will come down to how it affects range. overlanding requires most importantly 'range autonomy' of 1000km plus, that's my dilemma

Hi Peter. I totally agree with your view. Done quite a bit of overlanding and I have learnt that big wide tyres are overrated (just my opinion on all I am saying here and it remains the free choice of the vehicle owner and what he or she wants to do with their vehicle), suspension kits are a personal decision and I only do that on my vehicles if the manufacturer has an authorised brand that has zero effect on the warranty if the vehicle is new. If it's an older (for example) out of warranty vehicle you can let your imagination run wild, haha. A friend and his wife and another couple, both in their older shape Jimny's, did an overland "excusrsion" from Cape Town up the East coast all the way to Nacala, Mozambique. Then eventually headed west to Pilansberg then into Botswana all the way through Namibia back home...their "upgrades" were standard size all terrain tyres, roof rack and an additional spare tyre. Yes...had some challenges...but they did it.

Hi!, I’m about to get my brand new Jimny JB74 and I’d like to know which would be the largest tire size that can be mounted on a stock Jimny without causing some rubbing? Nice one. The set up is good. Just take off the wheels and spacers after every hard trip, check for cracks and bearing wear (as well as the usual under body checks). Really important especially if you are travelling solo or long distance. Looking forward to the three prov vid.

Hey Adrian, gotta love all the green in that suspension kit! We like it. :)Have to take note on what Kevin mentioned as well, spacers ad a lot of extra stress onto the wheel bearings and on top of that can be a safety hazard if not properly maintained and tightened when working on those, so do not forget to monitor those 2 with extra care. Cheers man.

Yeah The green has grown on me, even though I am more of a red guy. The engineers at Des Sol did the calculation for the Jimny and Wheelspacers add around a 4-7% increase in wear. Where as driving through muddy water can almost half the life of the bearings. But I have taken the wheelspacers off anyways, because I am kind of liking the skinnier look these days.

I'd warn you about wheel spacers, not sure about the new one, but the axle design is very similar to the old Jimny, and the 30mm spacers which where very popular on that model where known to reduce wheel bearing life dramatically (like

I do definitely feel a marked improvement in stability of the vehicle, and wouldn’t find the spacers necessary if I didn’t have the tent on the roof. However the affect on the center of gravity is noticeable, hence I will continue to use the spacers as long as I have the tent on. According to the maths that Des Sol did, it would increase bearing wear by 7% where as driving through dirty water while off-roading would increase bearing wear by anywhere up to 50%

You didn't mention it on your video, so you could have easily done it off-video, but I hope you got a wheel alignment after your suspension upgrade. With the new lift, it looks like it could do with bigger tyres. I agree with everyone else's comments about ditching the wheels spacers.

I did take it for wheel alignment 👍🏻 I’m quite happy with the wheel spacers, I feel like it helps make the ride abit more sturdy 👍🏻 the extra wear on the bearings is minimal in comparison to the benefits of the stability

Kit looks good, but spacers are illegal in Australia, hope you extended the brake lines as well, they were at full stretch when fitting the kit, off-road you may be without brakes after the first wheel lift. Looks great though.

Your Jimny looks great!!! But the guys at Suzuki used an impact wrench to tighten your wheel nuts. Usually it puts a lot of strain on the studs and rims and becomes a safety hazard. Wheels should be tightened by using a wheel spanner and your own power. See if you can take a wheel off... bet you will struggle. Remember this when you have deflated and debeaded a tyre while in an obstacle.

Hey Phillip, they did set the torque on the tool to around 110nm, and since then I have had the wheels and spacers manually rechecked and retightened 👍🏻

Isn't wheel spacers the worst mod anyone can do to a car. Yes, you'll get some pros, but with all the cons it just not worth it. You put so much strain on just about everything when you have the wrong offset on your wheels.

Get this vehicle over here. We don't all want bloated Yankee 4x4 freighters or shopping mall diva tart carts. You pulled out of the North American market in 2013 mainly from poor sales in the US. Canada would suck up this little truck like a fat kid eating jello. I'm on my 3rd modified XL7 but supply is running out. And the post-Samurai version are nothing as good as the original...or the new Jimny. I want one 😭

I love your approach how you add accessories and really test them. Off road equipment is really expensive and making mistakes is very costly. Just a little comment on the suspension upgrade. Also take your lifting jack into consideration with such an upgrade. The standard Suzuki jack is very, very flimsy. Take note of the change in body height. Further, you will most properly use the jack when your vehicle is fully equipped [additional weight]. I drive a pre-2019 model thus I am not sure if Suzuki upgraded the jack. In my case, the standard jack could not handle the 40 mm lift and I bought a bottle jack. This might be a theme for your future video clips.

Hey Hein; I have a little tip for you. There is a proper jacking point on the Radial Arm, a little flat circular piece; If you use this, you will be able to jack up the vehicle even with a lift. But your decision to upgrade to a bottle jack is indeed great; I am doing the same soon.

Love the Jimny and the channel but man ditch those spacers. Not worth the strain on the bearings and hubs, and the biggest advantage of the thing is its compact width. Plus now every puddle will sling stiff all over the body as I assume the tires stick out now. Please, In the bin with 'em.

Thanks man! It’s super quick! Yeah I have enough toe room, it’s only if I really stretch completely out that it touches. There is also the Stealth version of the tent, that has extra room by the feet 👍🏻

Love your content! I think it's agreeable to say that the Jimny is pretty much unstoppable. Adding a lift kit certainly will help with ground clearance and suspension travel, but I'm wondering if you remove the anti roll bars for off roading, how much actual gain in performance will you get? There will be more articulation but can it be too much with the lift kit installed and anti roll bars disconnected that it negatively impacts the off road capabilities instead? Based on the terrains you traverse.

The new suspension definitely helps with stability 👌🏻 I don’t think wider tyres are too necessary but if you like it like that then go for it 👍🏻

How does it feel on highways at 110-120 kmh. Is it manageable in wind conditions? Is wind+rain deadly?

@@RoamOverlanding I am very very interested in the older model. I love road tripping. I am also a big fan of offroading and the Jimny seems to fit me. I heard they are not very fast and they get effected by wind. I dont really care about the speed rather than wind performance.

There are loads of people who drive them and enjoy them, as long as you drive cautiously in the wind then it wont be a problem (Upgrading your suspenion also helps with the wind issues abit)

I'm going to install a kit of 2in Dobinsons on Gen 4. O have the option to do it with only shocks and springs and the second apart from that with coil caster and panhard bar, do you think it's worth it?
