Roan Mountain State Park in the Fall/Autumn | Tennessee | Appalachian Trail | Carvers Gap

In this video, we give you a wonderful review of this AWESOME state park! We share helpful information if you would ever want to visit this area. Roan Mountain State Park is located in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. Surrounded also by National Forest. Such a lovely area! We visited in the fall, so the leaves were really beautiful! Love traveling this time of year to see the fall colors! We also took a quick 13-minute trip outside of the park to visit Carvers Gap, a gap in the mountains where you can get on or get off the Appalachian Trail (for those who don't know what the Appalachian trail is: it's a 2,190-mile trail that starts in Georgia and ends in Maine, goes through 14 states) Very popular trail that likes to stay on mountains tops! Any who, our son wants to hike it someday, so any chance we get, we try and hike bits and pieces of it. So, at Carvers Gap you can get on and hike as much of it as you like. We just took it about 3/4 of a mile hike up to the top of a bald and got panoramic views of the surrounding mountains! SO BEAUTIFUL!! We love mountains!

Love the fall colors the cabin is a great get away. We think it would be nice at Christmas time. Snow a warm fire, hot cocoa, cookies, a warm blanket and socks now that’s a nice stay in a cabin in a woodsy area. Such a lovely place. I have to say the fall is a beautiful time of the year. I think I would sit outside and just talk to God and admire His creation. What a wonderful video.

Great place for a getaway! The cabin looked like a perfect home base for exploring the area. Fun to see the pretty fall colors along the Blue Ridge Parkway and the creeks. The yellows really stand out! :) 👍👍

Awesome video, Melissa. I'm loving the fall colors. Nice shot under water with the leaves and a fish too! Super cool to see the AT sites too, trail, and the white blazes. Love this area, and it's pretty cool that Tennessee State Parks don't charge admission fees! Some great fall colors on this visit! I wouldn't mind a waterfall next to my local grocery store, either 😂

The Waterfalls Park next to the grocery store was pretty cool! Roan Park looks pretty amazing with those lovely mountains in the distance.

HI! I wish we had waterfalls next to our grocery store, too! Loved the Roan Highlands view with the fall leaves! Beautiful cabin, sounds like a nice place to unwind with no tv or wifi!

Wow! These views are absolutely breathtaking! I can't get over how absolutely beautiful Tennessee is. That looks like the perfect picnic spot near the river, so lovely! Your underwater footage with the leaves in the water is so pretty. So cool there is a lovely waterfall park across from the grocery store!! I wish I had falls near my grocery store too haha! What beautiful trails with such lovely fall leaves! That farmstead is so cool! So nice to see its on the registrar of historic places. The chicken drinking water is adorable haha! That was such a beautiful place loved the history about the mining and that farmstead absolutely beautiful. The fall colors and riverside trail looked amazing. I love TN 💝🤩 I'd love to stay at the cabins.

I love the Blue Ridge Parkway! The town I (Alice) grew up in was about a half hour drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We have never been to Roan Mountain State Park. But it looks lovely. I love that they have parts of the old iron mine and the Miller farmstead to see. And that cabin looks like a comfortable homebase while you stay at the park. Sometimes it is nice to take a break from TV and wifi. You got great views of the fall foliage. Thanks for taking us along!

This is a beautiful area! We had camped in December in a cabin in that area a few years back - it was just stunning! TN is so beautiful! We loved the Carvers Gap & AT areas! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY

So good Melissa. These Roan / Alpalacian mountains looked beautiful and I loved the view at North Cave. The autumn colours here were amazing and I loved your undersea footage, there was so much life in there ! I wish we had a waterfalls park near our store too ! The place where you visited the next day was great seeing as though it was a free park and had a nice gift shop then also had the Peg leg mine trail to walk along. The preserved farmstead was beautiful and no wonder that in 2015 they put it on the national register of historic places . Loved the photo of you all and the cabin you stayed at was beautiful hehe I loved the heaven sign too. This was fabulous:) thanks for a lovely tour :) ~ Anna 👍 ❤

We have never been to the Blue Ridge Parkway during the fall. So beautiful! I enjoyed watching the trail going to the mine. The farm looks so gorgeous in fall colors!
