This video is our interpretation of Roan Mountain Tennessee. Our journey begins at Roan Mountain State Park in Carter County Tennessee. Then, we ascend the Roan Highlands, on a pretty amazing Appalachian Mountain Road, Tennessee Highway 143. We enter in Cherokee National Forest that converges with Pisgah National Forest at the top. Roan Mountain is the highpoint of the Unaka Range, and its home to a spectacular Spruce Forest. Hiking Roan Mountain would be amazing, but we simply didn’t have time. We did have some time for a little walking through the lush Pisgah Forest at 6,000 feet. But this video also includes some thoughts about Interpretation Centers, and some other thoughts as well.
