I know many people were not happy with the Bogo trade, and certainly for only a 2025 7th; however, he was an unproductive D-man with an $850k cap hit and his last year before UFA. So I actually like the move and we only retained about $160k of his cap. Fortunately, Calvin de Haan has started to step up in his place at only a $775k cap hit. Unfortunately, we’re going to either have to start moving guys or leave them in UFA if we want to resign or extend players like Steven Stamkos (2024 UFA) and Victor Hedman (2025 UFA). The vast majority of fans at every arena are going to be at worst neutral (I count a bit of heckling as still being neutral because there's nothing wrong with that) and a good number of them will be friendly. At the same time, every fanbase has a few jerks who are going to take things too far.
