“Why do I want to share my story? When I was first diagnosed, I wasn’t aware of anyone else that had acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), I wasn't put in touch with any charities or organisations, I was just thrust into this world without time to prepare or educate myself.
Of course, everyone's experiences will be different, but you take what you want or need from other people's stories and if mine can help someone or put someone's mind at ease then job done!”
Rob initially believed his symptoms were signs of long COVID, however after an unusual rash appeared on his back, he began to think otherwise. He was diagnosed with AML, but had a rare reaction to chemotherapy resulting in him having a stroke.
