The first single from Robbie's fifth studio album 'Escapology', which entered the UK Album Chart at No. 1 in November 2002 where it stayed for six weeks (returning for one more week the following August). 'Feel' would become one of Robbie's biggest international hits, hitting the top spot in the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Romania.
Among the talent joining Robbie on 'Feel' - his seventeenth UK Top 40 hit - was bass player Phil Spalding, whose glittering career included contributions to Mike Oldfield's 1983 UK No. 4 hit 'Moonlight Shadow', and Sir Elton John's Grammy Award winning song 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight'.
The moody black and white promo video was directed by Robbie's frequent collaborator Vaughan Arnell. It was shot in Alberta, in western Canada and features actress Daryl Hannah.

I was going through some tough stuff when this came out. I was 27, really not in a happy place, pretty desperate, in a relationship with a narcissist, who drove my mental health into a dark place. This song summed up where I was in life. Thankfully I’m in a good place now. The story of "this man" tells it all, and every man who has been on the journey of life and challenge, will know what I mean. I am by no means a RW fan, but this song just takes my soul on a journey that not many other songs can do. This song moves my soul. When I was a young boy, 4-5 years old, my family wasn’t very rich. My mother didn’t have many cds, but one she had was a Robbie Williams CD. Every night she’d play his hits. This one especially. Hearing this song takes me back to my childhood, dancing to Robbie Williams music, making my parents happy during tough times. Robbies music will always have a special place in my heart.

I am an American who has been in England in 1998. I remember seeing the Angels video(also in black and white) soon after my arrival and not getting into the song. And the same goes for most of his other songs. But lately I've enjoying his music in a retro sort of way. Didn't realise it was Daryl Hannah in the video until a few minutes ago when I googled the song. Not sure why but I always knew he wouldn't catch on in the USA.

I doubt you can write lyrics like this unless you have experienced the emotions and feelings described in the song. I can relate to this song. And the love described is not about love towards a woman/man or another person. It is to learn to love yourself and be able to feel and experience life again. Which is very hard if you suffer from depression, loneliness, addiction or when suffering from a physical or mental disorder that limits your life quality. None of us choose these faiths, and we can feel trapped. Yet our will and wishes wants to and dreams about being free to live life at our fullest again.

This is definitely one of the best songs Robbie ever did. It's such a perfectly written song, and has so much meaning behind it.. lyrically it's beautiful and powerful. The perfect song for an acoustic cover. I love to sing this one because it resonates with me and I'm sure most of us. We've all felt this way before.. all of us.

Since I was a little girl I felt connected to this song. I didn't really understand the lyrics literally but it was like my baby heart did. 15 years later I am finally leaving my toxic and abusive home. Next week I fly out of state to start a new life. Today I was sitting in a restaurant and this song started playing and I could finally fully understand it. I have always felt like this and I finally opened my eyes and put myself first. I'm so happy I didn't give up and I get to start a new life. I hope anyone going through the same as me can find a way out too 🖤
