These massive yabbies are the biggest that I can remember catching in a very long time. Some of these giants are truly enormous. For those watching from America, Imagine if your big crawfish were big as this?

That's a beast Robbie. Doing the right thing by thinning them out, as there's only so much food in such a small dam. Better having 300 giant yabbies than 1000 smaller stunted ones. Ditto with perch.

For Blueclaw some of those were pretty bloody big. The only problem I have with them is when they burrow the tunnel often perforates the clay lining. This can cause the dam to leak, and in extreme cases, blow the wall out. Redclaw are a pest in most places, but they don't burrow and get twice the size of Blueclaw. A bit of the chicken skin on some string and you probably could have coaxed the big fella out of the hole.

Nice one, I guess the Dam hasn't been fished in a while. In Shepp East this Kiwi would stop by in his bus every fruit season & work the orchard a mate lived on, he would follow the seasons around Australia, we would always finish the day having a swim in the local channel & sometimes he would come, whilst we messed around he would be on his hands & knees in the edge of the channel in the mud feeling around looking for Yabbies, when he found one he would rip the tail off & start chewing on it before crushing the claws in his teeth, he did ok & always got a good feed.

@@robbiefishing bardi grubs will always be the OG but you’re absolutely right!! Chicken and cheese are easily accessible and work the same. Back in the day dad and I had a great spot to dig grubs and they would always be there but unfortunately with time it went. We tried other spots and gave up from the hard work. We did find another spot for grubs (I even thought about going there to this day) but it was flooded when the floods happened and they would’ve either flown or died. Those were the days using grubs. Chicken and cheese is just todays bait for cod.
